The Sea Hag’s Story

Sea Hag Soaps & Art Mercantile was started in 2001 to give people a real place to buy many one of a kind, local, regional, quality, handmade items and fine art. We restored a 1920’s barn and it became the mercantile of many things and a place to make our soaps and skin care line. Think friendly, diverse art gallery of US made goods, that include- pottery, handmade furniture, jewelry, art work, organic coffee, teas, honey, maple products, candles antiques and the best handmade soaps and products. Sea Hag became a unique and friendly shopping experience for all your senses. The “Sea Hag” name came from an old wooden boat we had with the same name. The owner, Colleen, designed the logo. She’s a laughing, happy Sea Hag, that has learned a few lessons and gained some wisdom along the way!

We moved the business after 20 years at the barn. You can still buy all of our products and we will have some events on occasion at the new space.

Colleen Kane, the founder of Sea Hag Soaps & Art Mercantile, started making soaps in 1995, and added body and lip balms and then other products followed. Our Man or Beast Bug Slaying Spritz is a natural, non-toxic bug spray that works on all kinds of biting bugs.Safe for small and large human and pets.
