Most research exploring the effects of a single strength training workout has found that strength is reduced for the 24 – 48 hours afterwards, sometimes even longer when substantial muscle damage is produced.

Yet, this study found that after a "power" training workout involving light loads and fast bar speeds, strength was actually potentiated when measured at fast speeds, because of an improvement in rate of force development.

We have found at ZenoLink that eccentric load control/training and more specifically, eccentric load control with transition to dynamic concentric contraction is key to not only injury avoidance but performance enhancement. We have been employing eccentric load - transition exercises in our progressive skills training programs for decades with great success.

Are you dealing with plantar fasciitis? Consider not only the anatomical chain, but also 'your' kinematics... when we assess athletes at ZenoLink we evaluate the anatomical/structural chain, basic movement/function and activity specific kinematics. Never treating only symptoms but the root causes and entire chain. Injury recovery/avoidance and performance enhancement.

Plantar fasciitis is a common malady of the foot, very often cause by improper loading of the posterior chain. The glutes, hamstrings, calf muscles, foot muscles, and plantar fascia, all work together to produce extension of the leg, like when we run or walk. If the glutes aren't firing properly, extra burden is place on the other muscles in the chain. Commonly the calf muscles become overburdened, and their tightness pulls on the plantar fascia. In NKT we look for these kinds of relationships. Treating the symptoms without addressing the causes is a road to nowhere.
