I don’t know if words can truly describe the impact of Drew Ferguson on the lives of so many, including myself. To me, he will always be the Godfather of Sports Medicine.

I first met him as a first year medical student in 2010-2011 where he gave me my first taste of Sports Medicine as a career. I don’t think he ever truly understood just how meaningful and impactful he was in my journey.

My story isn’t unique as Drew was always selfless with his time and he helped shape and mold the careers of so many along the way. I truly enjoyed reconnecting with him the last two years since coming back to UAB. I will definitely miss all of his stories.

While today is filled with sadness, I’m also so incredibly thankful for his impact and his legacy that will live on at UAB, Children’s of Alabama, and beyond.

Thank you Drew for making all of our lives better!
