So. This recently came to light. Apparently 90% of U.S. cheese contains a GMO rennet made by Pfizer. Who is comfortable ingesting anything even remotely associated with Pfizer these days? Journal article is pay walled but excellent article on this topic link here: https://www.nothingsincurable.com/gmo-cheese-pfizer/

If something happens to where we do not have access to medical care, this is one of the resources that would be great to have on hand (along with the books "Where There is no Doctor" or "Be Your Own Doctor"). Unlike other options, this includes an actual, face-to-face (or Zoom) visit, more medications, and more recommendations (such as Vitamin D counseling). Purchase for yourself or give as a gift!

The media is starting the fear p**n all over again over this new "unknown" respiratory virus on the far side of the world. Except it is known. Remember how ultimately the majority of pictures/videos they showed us for COVID were fake? Be ready for that. Remember how their projections were not only baseless, but wayyyyy off. Remember that. Also remember that if we had done the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the media and health "authorities" advised, we would be better off, both individually and society-wise. Take all of this into account when filtering health news these days. And watch what "they" are doing, not what they are saying.

Eating holiday meals with friends & family who consume the standard American diet can be fraught with land mines and stress, but (when done gently!) can be a great opportunity for sharing as well! Check out the practice website at ALlifestylemed.com for my tactics on this, and let me know in the comments if you have any others successfully...or even not-so-successfully!

Just learned of a great website: AntennaSearch.com
You can enter your address (or just zip code) and it shows you how many are in your area. At my old zip code, there were 275 towers and 884 antennae. New zip code: 4 towers and 6 antennae. Wow. Which inspires me to do a blog about radiation and cell towers. They are NOT good news and there was very good reason for folks to oppose them when they first came out.

There is little doubt now that cancer is primarily a metabolic (not a genetic) disease, and we should be trying every theoretical (and safe!) medication that may help with this. Fenbendazole seems like it just might be one of those. Lots of papers showing benefit in cells and animals, no large-scale human studies yet (just one case series of 7 patients where 5 of the 7 saw their tumor marking-blood test levels either stabilize or come down, however 2 patients died from neutropenia, or decreased white cells that fight off infections).

There is a report in PubMed (doctor's Bible, and a repository of medical reports and studies) about liver enzyme elevation, however this person was self-administering doses that doctors would almost certainly not recommend. So this is not to say that every cancer patient should start this immediately, but I hope this gives cancer patients hope, that many are working on this!!!

Usually I only talk of sleep as a good thing. But considering we spend 1/3 of our lives asleep, it might be a good idea to consider our sleep environment... Great SubStack article on this today, at:

I just stumbled upon this today (from the book "Healing Without Hurting by Jennifer Giustra-Kozek). I posted this NOT to encourage folks to run out and buy these as supplements, but as encouragement to eat the rainbow! All of these vitamins are found in sufficient quantities in plants we eat (with the exception of vitamin D, as anyone who has spent time with me knows!), and in better, more safer form to boot! When you eat say, vitamin A in the form of food, it's almost impossible to overdose, and it comes accompanied by water, fiber, and other nutrients and micronutrients. When you take as a supplement, the dose may be too high (commonly the case with melatonin and others), and it may come along with other substances like heavy metals and pesticides. Always opt for the food. Always.

Sober October
One pillar of Lifestyle Medicine is "Avoidance of risky substances." There is nothing good I can think of about alcohol. It absolutely destroys sleep (another pillar of LM) and is one of the first things I will ask about if a patient brings up sleep as an issue. It is a known Class I carcinogen, meaning we know it causes cancer. Know, not "think" or "might." Know. It tastes great as it is generally full of industrial sugar, so it harms the body and mind, and dentition specifically. Humanity never had cavities until the introduction of industrial sugar. It also seriously slows metabolism, which is hardly helpful in this era of obesity-related disease. Every potential benefit (i.e., getting resveretrol from the red grapes in wine) can be obtained from food (like simply eating red grapes).

So consider switching out your nightcap for something that actually causes health, like decaf green tea, or hot chocolate with pure baking chocolate and almond milk. Post any other ideas below, as I'm sure there are oodles of them!

We do not enjoy enough soul-stirring simplistic beauty in all its forms enough these days. Beautiful doorsteps and walls too numerous to count in Charleston, SC or Savannah, GA. Beautiful, old architectural details in Europe (why isn't there more here?). Language can be one of these things, and I heard a nugget this weekend that I'll just leave here. Make of it what you will.

Consistency has never been a virtue of ignorance.

Apparently the news is trying to drum up some hysteria over the latest COVID variant. If Remind me, how does the media get funded again? And qui bono (who benefits)??

In absolutely, unequivocally, couldn’t possibly be related news, Moderna is posting a $1.4 billion loss this quarter, whereas they made $2.2 billion in the same quarter last year.

Now is a great time for an immune system tune-up as we head into Low Vitamin D (aka cold & flu) season! Please see me and we can channel any concerns into optimizing your immune system!
