Adjustments can be helpful but they aren’t magic.

They may reduce pain and improve mobility in the short term.

But lasting results don’t come from passive care alone.

That’s why we pair hands-on treatment with targeted exercise and progressive loading, and send every patient home with clear, individualized exercises to continue building strength outside the clinic.

Relief is the starting point.
Resilience is the goal.

About 90% of acute low back pain episodes improve within 6 weeks, even without intensive medical intervention.

This is why modern guidelines recommend:
• education
• movement
• conservative care

before advanced imaging, medication or surgery.

If your provider can’t tell you what “done” looks like, that’s a problem.

Care should have:
✔ Clear goals
✔ Objective progress markers
✔ A plan that evolves
✔ A defined end point

We’re here to help you move better, feel better, and get back to life, not keep you in a schedule forever.

You shouldn’t need chiropractic care forever.

At our clinic, care is built around measurable goals and clear timelines, not indefinite treatment plans.

We reassess.
We adjust the plan.
And when you’ve reached your goals, we say so.

Because the best outcome isn’t long-term dependency.

It’s independence.

Chiropractic works best when it stays in its lane. If something doesn’t fit, isn’t improving, or raises red flags…we refer out.

That’s responsible care. Your health matters more than keeping everything “in-house.”
Chiropractic care is effective for many musculoskeletal conditions but not all pain is mechanical, and not all cases belong in a chiropractic office.

Best-practice guidelines emphasize screening for red flags, monitoring response, and referring when appropriate. That includes referral to primary care, advanced imaging or specialists when symptoms don’t follow an expected course.

Advocacy in healthcare doesn’t happen by accident.

It takes time, consistency, and people willing to show up…year after year.

For many years, Brad Russell, DC has been actively involved in shaping the chiropractic profession through leadership and service. His work includes ongoing participation in the American Chiropractic Association House of Delegates, leadership roles within state and local chiropractic organizations, and advocacy focused on patient access, professional standards, and responsible, evidence-informed care.

That long-term commitment has been recognized by his peers through several honors over the years, including:
• ACA Delegate of the Year (2026)
• ASCA Chiropractor of the Year (twice)
• ASCA Young Chiropractor of the Year
• ACA Dow Bates Memorial Award
• Designation as a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors (FICC)

These recognitions reflect not just achievement, but sustained involvement, often behind the scenes, working to move the profession forward in a thoughtful, ethical direction.

Dr. Russell’s advocacy and leadership reflect what we value at Pillar Chiropractic and Rehab: protecting conservative care, supporting collaboration, and helping ensure chiropractic continues to evolve responsibly and in the best interest of patients.

Your spine isn’t like a stack of blocks that randomly slips out of place. Pain is rarely caused by a bone being “out.”

More often, it’s about how tissues are tolerating load or how you’re moving.

We focus less on labels and more on function, movement, and progress because that’s what actually changes outcomes.

In a large Medicare study, patients with spinal pain who used chiropractic care had a 56% lower likelihood of filling an opioid prescription within 1 year.

This doesn’t mean chiropractic replaces medical care, it supports using conservative options early when appropriate.

Reassessment is one of the most important parts of good care.

Your body changes over time. Symptoms change. Function changes.

What made sense at the beginning of care may not make sense weeks later.

That’s why we regularly reassess how you’re responding:
• Are symptoms improving, staying the same, or worsening?
• Is function actually changing?
• Does the plan still match your goals?

If progress stalls, evidence-based care doesn’t push harder by default.

It pauses, adjusts, or changes direction.
Reassessment keeps care intentional, individualized, and responsive, rather than routine.

When we move less, fat can replace the muscle in a deep spine-supporting muscle called the multifidus. When this muscle isn’t working correctly, your spine gets less support, making pain harder to resolve.

That’s why staying active and restoring deep muscle function is key to long-term back health.
If chronic pain is holding you back, we’re here to help. Call our office today to schedule an appointment!
