UPDATE: Hoover police say 25-year-old Carlethia "Carlee" Russell has returned home.

"At 10:45 P.M., the Hoover 911 center received a call that Carlee returned home to her residence. Police responded to the scene to investigate this latest development in the case. Hoover Fire medics responded to the scene to evacuate Carlee and transported her to a local hospital for evaluation," Captain Keith Czeskleba said in a news release.

UPDATE: Hoover police said in a news conference today that 25-year-old Carlethia “Carlee” Russell left work at the Summit around 8:20 Thursday night. HPD said she stopped to pick up food from a restaurant at the Colonnade off of HWY 280 before driving towards Hoover via I-459. Police added Russell stopped close to Mile Marker 11 which is near the Galleria Mall flyer over and Exit 10 for HWY 150. HPD said a single witness reported seeing a grey vehicle and a light-complected male standing outside of Russell’s vehicle. Police also said they found Russell's phone at the scene. An anonymous donor has offered $20,000 and Crime Stoppers is offering $5,000 for the safe return of this missing woman. You can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777. SPREAD THE WORD: A 25-year-old Alabama woman is missing and now police need your help to find her. Hoover Police said Carlethia “Carlee” Russell called 911 around 9:30 Thursday night to report a toddler walking alongside I-459 near Exit 11. That’s the area near the Galleria Mall and and HWY 150.

HPD said Russel called a relative to tell them what happened. HPD also said that relative lost contact with Russel but the line remained open. When officers arrived at the scene near Exit 10, HPD said they discovered Russell's car and some of her personal items nearby. However, they didn't see Russell or the child.

The missing woman is 5 feet and 4 inches tall. She weighs between 150 and 160 pounds. Russell was last seen wearing a black shirt, white Nike shoes, and black pants. Family members say Russell drives a red Mercedes. If you see Russell, dial 911 or Hoover Police at 205-444-7562.
