Mini Rant 💜💜💜The frustration hits different when your kids are counting on you to help them study for finals—asking you to quiz them out loud, looking to you for guidance—and you’re sitting there with a voice that just won’t come out. You want to help, to show up for them the way you always do, but your silence feels louder than any words you could say. It’s a helpless, heartbreaking kind of quiet.

I know it's hard to hear, but this is the most imperfect update on my voice and next steps that I can give right now 😁

"I received a Botox injection on April 15th to help with my vocal cords due to spasmodic dysphonia. It’s been weeks, and still—no real change. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t leave me feeling discouraged, like maybe my voice is something I’ll never fully get back. But even in my frustration, I’m holding on to faith, knowing God is still writing this part of my story. I go back in on June 5th for what might be my final round if there’s still no improvement, but I refuse to give up hope. My voice may be silent, but my spirit is not—God hears me, even when no one else can. "

💜💜💜Back at the doctor today to keep fighting for my voice. The journey’s not easy, but we’re trying Botox again—trusting God through the process.”💜💜

Hi, I’m Angela 💕
I’m a wife and a stay-at-home mom of 5 👩🏽‍👧🏽‍👦🏽👶🏽👦🏽👧🏽👧🏽

Now let me be real… the stay-at-home part wasn’t by choice—it was by force. 😔

About 2 years ago, I went in for thyroid surgery to have both of my thyroids removed. 🏥

While I was in the recovery room, I hemorrhaged in my throat and almost died. 😢
They had to rush me back into emergency surgery to save my life. 🙏🏽

At the time, I didn’t understand it… but now I know—God had a reason. ✝️✨

I spent a few days in the ICU, and after that, recovery was smooth.
Two months later, I returned to work at T-Mobile as a customer service rep. ☎️💻
I talked to people all day—until a day and a half in… my voice went out. 😶

I didn’t know what was going on. I went from doctor to doctor,
➡️ Had another surgery to remove a vocal cord nodule
➡️ Was told it was acid reflux
➡️ Went through voice therapy again and again... for a whole year.

Finally, I was referred to UAB Otolaryngology 🏥 and that’s when everything changed.
I was diagnosed with Spasmodic Dysphonia—chronic-constricted type (ADSD). 🎤💔

Even though my natural voice was taken…
God started giving me a new voice through Angela’s Corner. 🙌🏽❤️

This space gave me purpose. A place to encourage others and remind them:
🗣️ You are not alone.
🙏🏽 Your voice may be bruised… but your faith can still be strong.
