[03/06/20]   Attention Thriveworks Blacksburg clients:

We want you to know that here at Thriveworks Blacksburg, your physical health, as well as your emotional health, is of the utmost importance to us. Because of that, we will be taking a defensive yet pro-active approach to the current flu situation.

Between every session, your clinician will be disinfecting all surfaces in their office. Our waiting area will also be regularly disinfected.

We would also advise you to use the time before your session to wash your hands thoroughly.

And just a reminder that the CDC recommends frequent thorough handwashing, drinking plenty of liquids, and keeping your hands away from your face. We want everyone to remain healthy throughout this flu threat, and Thriveworks Blacksburg is committed to doing our part in support of that!

Welcome Amiee Burtoft, LPC! Our newest team member! Amiee says: The heart of my work with clients is sorting through complex issues, gaining insight, discovering new paths, making sense, and restoring movement. I’m a thoughtful observer as well as an active participant in our work together. My fundamental belief is that change is an opportunity to develop a better sense of who we are and where we can go from here. Amy's areas of specialization include couples, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ, stress, career, trauma, mood disorders, ptsd, and more. See our website for her full bio.

Another awesome Thrivestock! Lots of great information and news of exciting new things coming up!

Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours available!

Welcome to our new team member, Sam Cowart, LPC. “Counseling is inevitably a very vulnerable experience. It’s one that gently asks you to let your guard down a bit, and it’s a way to get to know yourself better, regardless of what you’d like to work on. Maybe you’re going through a particularly hard time, or maybe you find yourself feeling like there’s something in your life you’d like to change. Whatever the reason may be, my number one goal as your counselor is to provide you a safe, nonjudgmental environment so that you can feel comfortable navigating these things. From there, I’d love to help you figure out coping strategies that work best for you!”
