A little bit about me: I am the oldest daughter of Ronnie and Carolyn Kubecka and I grew up in Palacios which is a small town on the coast of South Texas. When I turned 18, I found the quickest way out of chores and work. I moved to Victoria, Texas to go to college at Victoria Community College. I worked as a CNA at night while attending school during the day and this is when I realized that I wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner. I applied at and got accepted into the nursing program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Once in the program I worked night weekends as a Nurse Tech in the hospital trying to learn as much as I could about medicine. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in May 2003. I worked at Christus Spohn Shoreline on the Cardiac floor and then at Doctor's Regional Hospital, while I continued on to get my Masters degree. I graduated with my Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2006 and became a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in August 2006. I then went to work for Dr. Charles Breeling at Family Practice Associates of Corpus Christi. I managed the care of his inpatients in the hospital in the mornings and in the afternoons I saw patient's in the clinic. I truly love by job, but by December 2008 we decided that we needed to be closer to family and back to the "small town life" so we moved back to Blessing, Texas. I took a position working for Take Care Health System at the LyondellBasell Matagorda site doing occupational medicine. It was definately a slower paced job, but perfect for raising kids. By October 2010, I was starting to miss working in Primary Care, so I started working weekends at Stat Care of Bay City (Urgent Care). This is where I realized how much I missed Family Practice. In the fall of 2011 I started looking at opening a practice in Palacios so that I could give back to the community that raised me into the person that I am today. I was approached by the CEO of Palacios Community Medical Center to join their Medical Clinic and I gladly accepted. In February 2012 I started my forever job. I truly love taking care of the people in the community that I grew up in. There is not a day that goes by that I don't feel accomplished when I go home. I love educating people about disease processes and how to lengthen their lives with healthy lifestyle changes and ways of living. My personal life: I am married to my best friend, John Gilbert and he is so supportive of me and the hours that are required of my chosen profession. Dylan is 6 and a 1st grader at Central Elementary. Kailtyn is 4 and in preschool at Presbyterian Day School. Jayden is 2 and stays at home with our wonderful Nanny (Audrey Guardiola).
