I have been so busy catching up with all my students, I have done a terrible job of taking pics! I had to fix that today, because I am almost as impressed by the back of this quilt block, as I am the front! So much careful stitching and pressing, and perfect for fall!

All a girl really needs to celebrate turning twelve are the sweetest friends and the coziest PJ pants!

And maybe cookie cake and some candy corn.

Loved creating and celebrating with these girls today! They all can't wait for the next pajama day at school to show off their new creations!

Still a few seats left in Beginner Sewing! This class will teach 7-12 year olds all about machine sewing. We'll cover straight stitches, zigzag stitches, and even zippers as we make a pillow, a zippered tote, a decorative banner, an art kit and more!

Middle schoolers!

Young crafters and their 18" dolls are invited to doll-and-me week at In Stitches! We'll be sewing up all kinds of back to school items for kids and their dolls, including backpacks and even an outfit!

There are two spots left in this beginner-friendly camp, no previous sewing experience needed! All materials and supplies are provided, all you need to bring is your creative kid and their doll!

❄️ It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! ❄️

It was Christmas in July here this week, and we had so much fun stitching up Christmas stockings, Christmas pillows, reusable Christmas gift bags, and even cozy Christmas pajama pants!

These talented sewists finished out the week by decorating Christmas cookies and sipping hot chocolate while listening to Christmas music and wearing their newly-finished PJ pants!

We had SEW much fun during Book Week, I only managed to take 3 pictures! We created books and banners and plushies for Wings of Fire, Keeper of the Lost Cities, The First Cat in Space and Elephant and Piggie, and it was amazing! A whole week of sewing and talking about our favorite books. I already can't wait til next year's Book Week!

It's hot and humid out now, but the studio is getting ready for Christmas! We'll be celebrating Christmas in July the week of July 14th-18th, and there are two spots left for your kiddo to join us!

We had the best time this week, sewing up the coziest clothes ever!

Each sewist got to customize every bit of her pieces, chosing from straight-, flared-, or cinch-legged pants with wide elastic, narrow elastic or a fold-over yoga waistband.

Then they got to choose from classic hoodie, cropped hoodie, or cross-back sweatshirt.

Each set turned out unique and amazing! And we even had time to make accessories or bonus cozy pants for family!

These brand new sewists worked HARD this week!

We started with machine basics, and they became pros at winding the bobbin, threading the machine, and tracing patterns.

By Day 2, they had conquered pillows and were working on tiny careful pockets for colored pencils in an art kit.

Day 3 had them creating festive banners, complete with careful corners and points and a zigzag stitch!

Day 4 had them quilting! (Check out their impressive pressed seams) We even tackled zippers!

By Day 5, I knew they were ready to tackle clothing. They cut, sewed, created an elastic casing, threaded elastic and hemmed their very own shorts!

I loved seeing how comfortable and confident they became in their skills all week long!
