Enchanted Yogis

A joyful class that inspires kids to be fully present in their body. It combines the healing practice of yoga with the ancient art of storytelling.

The story is told orally, like they did in the olden days before the written word. The stories are wisdom stories, fables or folktales from around the world. There is a certain transportational element in these stories to another time and place, and perhaps culture. The story works through life issues (such as fear) to help introduce yogic ideals such as compassion, cooperation, courage, and truth. These ideals are weaved through out the rest of the class. The yoga, meditation, relaxation and breathing is fun, kid-friendly, and a lot of times requires kids to use their imaginations. I always try to include as much cultural teaching as the kids are responsive to, including it even in the art. I have a personal love of culture and love exposing the young ones to it!
