APIC Minnesota APIC Minnesota is a local chapter of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.

The Minnesota chapter of APIC is a dynamic and dedicated organization of members on the leading edge of developments related to both clinical issues—like MRSA—and management issues—like surveillance technology. The ultimate goal is to advance patient safety by reducing the risk of infection.

Federal Appropriations Coming Down to the Wire:

Congress has less than a month to pass FY 2023 appropriations. If appropriations are not passed by October 1, Congress will either need to pass a temporary continuing resolution or the government will shut down until action is taken. With so many challenges facing the healthcare system, Congress needs to ensure key federal programs are funded so agencies can plan for the future. Contact your Members of Congress today and tell them to take action.

Hear from infection control leaders and experts from across the state of Minnesota, and take this opportunity to expand your knowledge in infection control while also reflecting on the past years of the pandemic. The keynote speaker, Dr. Sampathkumar, will kick-off the event on Thursday morning on Pandemic Lessons and the Future of Infection Control. Other topics will include zoonotics, microbiology, data driven decisions, hospital-acquired infections, endoscope processing, antibiotic overuse, and more! Dr. Ruth Lynfield from MDH is also joining for everyone’s favorite session…Hot Topics in Emerging Infections.
