At FTTIM we have the pleasure of providing BSFT competency training to a wonderful team of professionals at Children's Aid and Family Services in New Jersey. Training led by Adriana Von Simson

Our team recently participated in a training session on Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), led by Adriana von Simson, MSW, LCSW, from the Family Therapy Training Institute of Miami.
This evidence-based approach helps reduce behavioral issues and substance misuse in children and teens, while strengthening family bonds. Staff from the Department of Child Protection and Permanency, the Department of Children and Families, and care management organizations joined us. Children’s Aid and Family Services is one of five program providers in the state of NJ.

It takes a village to raise a child. If the village is toxic, why put the child back in it, right? So why do troubled kids so often get placed into "individual" therapy only rather than "family" therapy?
BSFT® provides families with the tools to overcome individual and family risk factors, to resolve the toxicity that may exist in the family relations and encourage positive family interactions. And if on some occasion an individual therapy session is warranted, the BSFT clinician will provide that as well.
