After almost 10 years, my little Tillandsia from the stricta/bergeri/dorati family finally bloomed for the very first time — and the tiny purple flowers smell like grapes. 🍇💜

In a world where it’s so easy to doom-scroll and stay stuck in the noise, I’m choosing to slow down, breathe, and notice God’s creation right in front of me.

This tiny bloom — a decade in the making — reminded me how growth takes time.
Just like us.
We all need light, nurturing, patience, and grace to unfold.

I am so grateful today. This little miracle made me jump for joy. God’s beauty steadies me, and moments like this remind me why gratitude is part of my daily ritual—it keeps my mind anchored and my heart open.

“He makes all things beautiful in His time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11 ❤️

As we pause today, I just want to say—thank you.

For being here. For doing the work. For choosing healing even on the days it feels heavy. I practice gratitude every morning as part of my ritual, but days like this make me slow down and feel it a little deeper.

From a brain-science perspective, gratitude literally helps the mind rewire. Research shows that when we intentionally reflect on what we’re thankful for, the brain activates regions like the medial prefrontal cortex, which are involved in emotional regulation and long-term well-being. Studies also show that consistent gratitude practices can increase activity in neural pathways related to reward, connection, and stress reduction—helping the brain notice what is good, even in seasons that feel uncertain (Kini et al., 2016; Fox et al., 2015).

But beyond the science, gratitude is sacred to me.

It recenters my heart.

It reminds me who God is.

And it anchors me in the truth that I am held—even when life feels noisy.

Today I’m grateful for community, for healing, and for the quiet ways God walks us through the valleys and into deeper peace.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” — Psalm 136:1

Happy Thanksgiving, friends.
I’m so grateful for you. ❤️

🌺🏖️❤️

Today I took a mental health day — sun on my skin, salt water at my feet, and a moment to pray, breathe, and reconnect with the One who created all of this. 🌺🏖️❤️

Yes, I live near the beach… but the bigger message is this:

Nature is everywhere.
God’s creation is everywhere.
And your nervous system needs it.

Holistic simply means whole.
It means remembering the gifts God placed around us long before modern life became so loud —
☀️ sunshine
🌿 fresh air
🌊 water
🌳 trees
🪨 rocks
🍎 whole foods
🌾 grass
🌱 plants
💨 slow breathing
🙏 quiet moments with God

These are free. These are accessible. And these are medicine we often forget to use.

So while this is my version of grounding today, your version might look like:
🌿 sitting under a tree
🌤️ opening a window for sunlight
🪴 tending to a plant
🚶🏽‍♀️ taking a 5-minute walk
🖐️ touching the earth with your hands
🍎 choosing a whole food meal
🕊️ sitting in silence with God

You don’t need an ocean to reconnect with your Creator.
You just need a moment… and what’s already around you.

And if you’re reading this while scrolling — here’s your gentle reminder to step into something real today. Your body, mind, and spirit will thank you. ❤️🌺🏖️

Today my soul got a dose of exactly what it needed 🍑🎨✨

Purposely Crafted’s Creative Mixer at reminded me how healing it is to step back into artistic spaces — to play, to create, to connect, and to breathe again.

Huge thank you to and for hosting such a joyful, meaningful experience for those of us in the healing and helping professions. Your creativity, community, and heart-centered leadership truly uplift this work. 🤎

Being surrounded by fellow therapists, healers, coaches, and creatives — all laughing, painting, and pouring from a place of authenticity — felt like medicine.

These moments remind me that creativity is part of our mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness.

And today, it reawakened something in me I didn’t even realize I’d missed. 🖼️✨

Here’s to more art, more community, more joy, and more spaces where we get to show up fully human and fully expressive. 🤎🎨

When I’m not working… I’m networking. 💼✨

Today’s Florida Mental Health Counselor gathering reminded me why I love this field — it’s not about competition, it’s about community. 🫶🏽

Every time I show up to connect, I walk away inspired — today I’ve already lined up 4–5 new podcast interviews, shared podcast tips with someone just starting out, and learned from incredible colleagues who truly get it. 💡

Whether you’re in Palm Beach, Broward, or anywhere across Florida, being part of professional associations like the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association keeps us grounded, growing, and connected — because we can’t pour into others if we’re not also pouring into each other. 🌱

🌸 Healing Starts with the Soil 🌸

Today I got to bring my granddaughter to Fruitful Flowers, a local regenerative flower farm that’s part of — a nonprofit space I grew up near and still hold close to my heart. 💚

Here’s why this matters ⤵️
🌿 No pesticides, no toxins — just flowers grown with love
🌎 Regenerative land = restored ecosystems
🐝 Healthy soil = healthy bees = healthy humans
💐 Local flowers last longer and support small farmers

From a mental health lens, spending time outdoors lowers cortisol, boosts serotonin, and reconnects us with creation. When we garden, plant seeds, or simply breathe in fresh air, we’re literally reminding our nervous system that we are part of something living and good. 🌻

If we lose our bees, we lose our blooms — and our balance.
Protecting the earth is protecting our mental health. 🌞
