We’re excited to share that Barry Smeltzer, MPAS, PA-C FAAEM, Co-Executive Director of AAEM, and Suzanne Gazda, M.D, an AAEM member, have been appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome Advisory Council.

This team of experts, including Elizabeth Miller, Ph.D., Martha Shoultz, and Melissa Smith, will advise on pivotal research, diagnosis, treatment, and education related to pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome.

Let's also congratulate the reappointed members—Brandon Brock, D.N.P., Kara Chasteen, Sarah Garrett, Qazi Javed, M.D., Paula Kruppstadt, M.D., Amy Offutt, M.D., and Nathan Pullen.
