A Holiday Tradition from My Kitchen to Yours 🍞🎄
Growing up, my mom had a special love for baking. It wasn’t just something she did during the holidays — she baked year-round. But when Christmas came around, her kitchen transformed with a little extra magic. A few nights before Christmas, we’d bundle up and take a drive around our small town, delivering fresh-baked loaves of bread to friends and neighbors. In return, they’d gift us homemade treats, and it was this exchange of love and deliciousness that made the holiday season so memorable.
I share this story with you because, much like my mom, I’ve developed a deep love for baking. When I’m not chasing after my kids or caring for my wonderful patients at Idaho Outreach Medicine, you’ll find me in the kitchen. Family dinners are my favorite — those evenings spent around the table, sharing a meal, are priceless.
But baking? That’s my creative outlet. There’s something so special about preparing a homemade treat to share with others. I love following in my mom’s footsteps, gifting baked goods to my family and friends to spread a little joy.
As I reflect on those memories, I wanted to share one of my favorite recipes with you. It’s the same one I made with my mom — a recipe that holds a special place in my heart. While she was the true bread-baking master, I’m convinced she added a few secret touches when I wasn’t looking! Her magic still inspires me today.
So, this holiday season, I’m inviting you to share in this tradition! I’ve posted the recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls (my favorite!) on my blog, along with more stories and details behind this special treat. Whether you decide to bake it for your family, share it with friends, or keep it all to yourself (no judgment here!), I hope it brings a little warmth and joy into your home this season.
