I say nay nay!!

Fun fact: I demanded everybody to walk single file to get a time lapse video, which confused everybody, and then apparently I didn’t even record the video! 😂😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️

Tuesdays run was the 8th street grind. This meant 60 minutes of running up the street and back. What we’ve loved this year is how each workout has felt challenging and rewarding in its own way. That elevation on 8th street is no joke 🥵 but this is exactly why we use it to train for Robie Creek. We are always ready for race day thanks to that grind!

Most of you already know I love running as a hobby, and doesn’t really come as a surprise. But what might be a surprise, is another favorite hobby of mine?

Baking 😍

YES. I love to bake. And not to pat myself on the back but I’m pretty good at it. Breads, cakes, cookies, all the things. No I’m no professional or gourmand, but my kids do tell me I make the best bread ever 😂

And you know what? Why not? Why shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy baking?

Why should it be such a surprising thing about me? Sure, I love fitness and helping people reach their goals to get healthy. But would you expect me to run all day every single day? Or lift all day every single day?

Like all things in life, treats are perfectly fine in moderation. I don’t bake everyday, and I certainly don’t eat the spoils of my baking moods everyday!

I use them as opportunities. Time to slow down and enjoy the sweeter things in life (pun intended). To find joy in simple things like a cookie. To spend time with my kids who now love to cook, and teach them lifelong skills. And sometimes we share our spoils with friends and neighbors. Just because

So, baking can still be considered part of a well balanced life right?

Saturday meetup 😍

WOW

I think this is the biggest group we’ve had on Saturday EVER. And it was crazy busy with treasure valley citizens enjoying this amazing weather we are having

60 minutes of running. Some intervals, some hiking, and some “mountain goats” courtesy of Mike 😂

I went home with a smile on my face and my heart full. It sounds weird talking like that about a training group. But to see so many faces, so many fitness levels and still killing it to meet their goal, it’s empowering 💪🏻

Robie creek is for sure something special ❤️

Week 2 underway! 😍 this weeks Tuesday workout: hill repeats!

This year is a first for implementing a routine hill repeat workout, and I think it needs to be a permanent thing! Some people may not agree 😂🤪
We took the opportunity to work hill repeats with two different options: taking the first timers up the “beast” as we dubbed it, to practice conditioning for that summit (where a lot of runners get tempted to walk) and then taking the more seasoned runners through 60 second hill runs at High effort level. Both workouts were sublime and left us all feeling roasty toasty! Thank goodness Corey from Dupont Wellness was there to greet us when we finished! 😉

I feel SO incredibly blessed yet again to be part of this crew ❤️ every week everyone is so excited to see each other, and the regulars get so excited to share everything they can with the first timers. Robie creek is going to be really special this year I can already tell.
