Dental insurance rules are still not applied equally across all patients.

That’s because some employer-sponsored dental plans are exempt from state consumer protections under ERISA.

The Improving Dental Administration Act (H.R. 7931) fixes this by closing that loophole and ensuring state dental insurance protections apply consistently across all plans.

Over the past decade, state dental associations have helped secure more than 360 dental insurance reform laws. In 2026 alone, we’ve already seen 8 major wins.

Now Congress needs to complete the system.

The ADA isn’t just a logo or dues invoice. It’s legal action, lobbying, insurance reform efforts, FTC pressure on dental plans, ERISA-related advocacy, and coordinated defense of private practice dentistry.

Dentists can disagree on strategy, but dismantling organized dentistry only strengthens the position of third-party payers and outside interests.

As of May 11, 2026, new federal rules under Section 1557 are enforceable for practices with 15+ employees. Accessibility lawsuits rose 27% last year, often targeting healthcare providers who rely on "quick fix" automated widgets.

To stay compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA, you should:
✅ Conduct a manual audit (don't trust automated scans alone).
✅ Verify third-party scheduling tools.
✅ Post a formal accessibility statement.
