⚽️🎯 Game On at CABI CORE! 🎲🔫

Our Social Skills Group brought the energy with an action-packed day of **kickball, board games, and laser tag — Boys vs. Girls style… with staff right in the action too!** 💥🙌

Participants practiced:
✅ Teamwork & cooperation
✅ Good sportsmanship
✅ Communication & problem-solving
✅ Flexible thinking & turn-taking
✅ Encouraging peers and celebrating successes

Staff didn’t just supervise — they **played, coached, cheered, and modeled positive social skills every step of the way**, helping create a supportive, high-energy environment where everyone could participate and have fun 💙❤️

From epic kickball plays to strategic board game moments and laser tag missions, the group showed fantastic teamwork, laughter, and confidence all around 😄

🕵️‍♀️ Mission Accomplished!
Our teen group took learning beyond the clinic walls today with a scavenger hunt adventure at the mall — and they absolutely rose to the challenge! 💪
Throughout the outing, teens practiced essential life skills including planning, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, flexible thinking, and navigating a busy community environment. They collaborated to complete missions, approached stores appropriately, managed time, and supported one another along the way. One of the most creative tasks? Finding a random item and inventing a brand-new product from it! The ideas were imaginative, hilarious, and showed some serious problem-solving and flexible thinking skills.
Of course, there were plenty of laughs and memorable moments too! 📸 The group captured photo proof of their discoveries and proudly shared that the experience felt like a true adventure.
These real-world opportunities help build independence, confidence, and the skills teens need to succeed in school, work, and community settings — all while having fun together. We couldn’t be prouder of their effort and teamwork today! 💙

Our Social Skills Group put candy conversation hearts to the test in a fun science experiment, then made our own chocolate heart candies (yes… they were as good as they sound 🍫😋).

🏈✨ Designing Our Own Game Plan! ✨🏈

In preparation for Super Bowl Sunday, our learners created custom football helmets inspired by their unique interests — and they did not disappoint!
From Bluey and Mickey to superheroes, music, and imaginative fantasy worlds, each helmet tells a story about what matters most to that learner.

Along the way, we practiced:
✔️ Asking peers about their interests
✔️ Listening and remembering details
✔️ Noticing what we have in common
✔️ Celebrating what makes us different
✔️ Thoughtfully including friends who were out sick 🤍

It was a beautiful reminder that even though every helmet looks different, we’re all part of the same team.

We are so proud of the kindness, curiosity, and connection we saw today. Social skills in action — with a little Super Bowl spirit mixed in!

Both our teen group and younger social skills groups jumped into this creative classic, working on planning, following directions, communication, and peer interaction along the way.

❄️ CABI CORE Saturday Social Skills ❄️
We learned how snow is made and when there was no snow outside… we made our own! We worked on teamwork, following directions, and flexible thinking, and ended the day with an epic indoor snowball fight — kids vs. staff.
