Metapolitic article incoming on this myopic take. The obvious question is, "why?"

Beyond that, no discussion of poisons/pesticide use, biodiversity loss, carbon recapture from these home gardens, etc. etc. Very skewed/partial view that paints big food in a favorable light.

The English Navy felt lousy for a long time and they didn't know why until they started sucking on limes, and then they all cheered up—they'd had a terrible vitamin deficiency. Today, Americans feel lousy because they don't have enough people. 50 percent or 60 percent of marriages fail now. But when a couple fights, it's not about money, it's not about s*x, and it's not about power. Each person is saying to the other one, "You're not enough people. I need more people."

Exercise variety is beneficial for muscle growth because different exercises can target various regions of a muscle, leading to more balanced development. A recent study found that exercises like leg extensions and leg presses stimulate different parts of the quadriceps. While not all muscle groups may need variety, understanding how different exercises impact muscles, and furthermore understanding how this applies to your own unique physiology can help optimize your training routine for better results.

Alright folks, here’s something cool about muscle memory that might interest those of us trying to get back in shape. A new study out of Norway shows that muscle memory is very real, thanks to something called myonuclei. Basically, when you build muscle, your cells create these little powerhouses (myonuclei) to help manage the muscle growth. Even if you stop working out and lose muscle, these myonuclei stick around for a long time—possibly years—making it easier to regain muscle later. So, if you’ve taken a break from working out, don’t worry; your body remembers and can bounce back faster than you might think!

This research backs up the idea that our bodies hold onto the tools they need to rebuild muscle, even when we’ve slacked off. So next time you’re thinking about skipping that workout, remember—your muscles have your back, literally!

Let’s keep pushing forward, even if it's been a while since you last hit the gym. Your body is more resilient than you might give it credit for. Keep going, you got this!

Bro culture be like: lost everything? Just hit the gym. Have you tried meditation? Just go for a walk. 💪 But let’s dig deeper—life isn’t just about simple quick fixes, and these things can seem trivial and rarely provide lasting change on their own. Hitting the gym is great, but when everything falls apart, what we truly need is more than just reps and sets. Real healing comes usually from connections with others and it’s necessary to build strong bonds with loved ones in order to do so. Integrating ourselves into a supportive community is one way to do that, but even starting small by reaching out to someone you trust when you’re in need, or better yet, to someone who shows signs of being in need.

Social connection is essential for mental health. It’s about developing a solid support system and creating meaningful relationships that go beyond surface-level interactions. The best way to do that is by extending a branch to others—finding those who respond, fostering genuine connections, while maintaining healthy boundaries.

Of course, self-care practices like exercising and adopting healthy habits are important. But the core of recovery, the true foundation, lies in emotional connection with others. Let’s shift the focus from just physical strength to emotional resilience and community building.
