LINEMAN IMPROVING AFTER ELECTRIC SHOCK: 24-year-old Entergy lineman Hunter Alexander is now off a ventilator and talking inside a Shreveport, LA hospital. Two days ago he was repairing lines damaged in the ice storm near Jonesboro, LA when he was seriously injured. He’s undergone a fasciotomy surgery to improve blood flow in his arms.

His father, Daren, tells me he was initially rushed to a Ruston hospital but needed to be airlifted to a burn unit in Shreveport. However, the ice made it unsafe to land. Daren says Northern Louisiana Medical Center employees, volunteers, and City of Ruston employees worked to clear an area in the parking lot for the chopper to land. He’s extremely grateful for their efforts.
