Rapides Heart Center hosted a Cardiovascular Lunch and Learn session at our Sabine Medical Center and Express Care Clinics location yesterday. We had a great turnout and learned about the latest in key treatments for STEMI and STROKE.

Allegiance Health Management’s Emergency Medicine Division held a Medical Director Forum today Sabine Medical Center and Express Care Clinics in Many, LA.

EM Medical Directors attended from the following Allegiance hospitals throughout the state Louisiana: Acadian Medical Center, Minden Medical Center, Mercy Regional Medical Center Ville Platte, Avoyelles Hospital, Winn Parish Medical Center and Winn Wellness Clinic, Oakdale Community Hospital and Sabine Medical Center and Express Care Clinics. It was a productive day of education, strategic planning and process improvement.

Allegiance Health Management participated in the LSU Family Medicine Resident Education Day in Lafayette. We are so proud that several of these amazing residents moonlight throughout our AHM rural ED’s. The residents describe working with us as “coming home!” This is a true testimony to our amazing teams and ED Medical Directors who foster a teaching environment and help to guide our residents as they begin their careers in rural Emergency Medicine.

Oakdale Community Hospital partnered with Rapides Regional Medical Center to host a Rural Development Trauma course in Oakdale this week. Dr. Jeremy Timmer, Rapides Regional Medical Center Trauma Surgeon, taught the course. Some of the topics covered during training include: Trauma assessment, communication techniques, airway, breathing, circulation, and the interventions that go along with those issues.

Emergency Medicine Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses and staff from Minden Medical Center, Oakdale Community Hospital, Sabine Medical Center and Express Care Clinics and Acadian Medical Center attended the course. Thanks to all who helped coordinate!
