For ME (because itβs not formally in our job descriptionβexcept for a few of these that I feel like automatically should beβ¦especially the last oneβI just choose to do these things purely because I want to)ππΌ
Sometimes being a wedding photographer also looks like this:
1) Making the bed in the getting ready room or tidying up when you can. Itβs best that this happens ahead of time (or to have a room strictly for getting ready), but that doesnβt always happen and Iβd rather help reduce stress by helping out
2) Helping to pin boutonniΓ¨res before letting loved ones stage doing so (the loved ones usually ask if thatβs okay to do).
3) Checking inβoccasionally slowing the freight train of the wedding day by being quiet and taking a deep breath with the couple, then checking in with them. Itβs so easy to be in βgo-go-goβ mode. Itβs really important to have moments that remind us to take a second and slow down. It sets you in the moment and grounds you to the celebration youβve been waiting so long for.
4) Help to bustle β something I like to ask if their okay with and whomever is helping, because this can feel like another big moment for them. I donβt want to overstep in moments that mean a lot to you or your loved ones. However, typically this is also a request that doesnβt get turned down often, and Iβd like to think Iβm pretty fast at doing them after 6 years of practice haha.
5) Communicate with your wedding party, family, and vendor team. This is a BIG one and is KEY to a seamless, fun wedding
