The Junkluggers is an eco-friendly junk removal company committed to the environment and the communities we serve. The amount of residential and commercial waste that ends up in landfills on a daily basis is astronomical. The Junkluggers is striving to eliminate 100% of reusable waste from landfills by the year 2025. We believe that it’s critical to take care of our planet today to ensure a bright future for our children tomorrow.
CEO Josh Cohen founded The Junkluggers in 2004 with one truck and two goals: to reduce the amount of stuff that ends up in landfills, and to eliminate the stress that many customers experience from having unwanted stuff. Nearly 15 years later, and with over 28 franchises across the U.S., The Junkluggers has helped tens of thousands of people, including those assisted by the charities we support.
Fresh off of a 15,000-mile, yearlong sailing adventure across the Atlantic and through the Caribbean, Stephen Rishworth and Abby Cushing are committed to bringing an eco-friendly, sustainable business to the Greater Boston area. Abby grew up in Westwood, MA and attended Harvard University. She has years of experience in marketing and investor relations, and most recently worked in London where she met her husband and business partner Stephen. Stephen grew up in North Wales, UK and attended Oxford University. He previously worked as the Head of Emerging Markets FX Trading and spent 17 years as a derivatives trader at various top tier investment banks. Now settled back in the U.S., they are both excited to bring The Junkluggers to their surrounding community and partner with charities such as Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army and Boston Children’s Hospital. When not working or sailing the world, Stephen and Abby enjoy being outdoors, exercising, skiing, reading and engaging with the community.
