💙 Nửa Chặng Đường Cùng Nhóm 1975 💙

Chúng ta đã đi được nửa chặng đường của năm 2025 và bắt đầu tháng Sáu bằng buổi đi bộ tại Cuộc Diễu Hành Dorchester trong một ngày thật đẹp! ☀️

Trên suốt hành trình, nhóm 1975 cảm nhận Dorchester qua những gương mặt và câu chuyện của quá khứ, hiện tại và tương lai. Cộng đồng đầy yêu thương nơi đây đã nhắc nhở chúng tôi về sự gắn bó và đa dạng văn hoá phong phú mà ta được sống cùng mỗi ngày. Đó là một khoảnh khắc tiếp thêm sức mạnh—ấm áp và đầy cảm hứng—gợi nhớ chúng ta về chặng đường đã qua và những gì ta đã cùng nhau vun đắp. 💙✨

Khi kết thúc buổi đi bộ, cả nhóm 1975 cũng cùng nhau nhìn lại những gì đã đạt được trong nửa đầu năm. Từ những dấu mốc đáng nhớ đến sự phát triển chung, chúng ta đã tiến rất xa—và phía trước vẫn còn nhiều điều đáng mong đợi.

💙 Halfway Through with the 1975 Crew 💙

As we reach the halfway point of 2025, we kicked off June with the Dorchester Parade Walk on a perfect day! ☀️

Throughout the walk, we witnessed Dorchester through the stories and faces of the past, present, and future. We were deeply reminded of the supportive community that grounds us, and the rich diversity that surrounds us every day. It was an empowering moment—a warm, refreshing reminder of how far we've come and what we've accomplished together. 💙✨

As we wrapped up the walk, we also reflected on all that we’ve achieved so far as the 1975 team. From meaningful milestones to collective growth, we've come a long way—and there’s still so much more ahead.

Here’s to the rest of 2025. Let’s keep building, together. 🚶🏽‍♀️🌟

📣 Today, we speak up - clearly, firmly, and together.

As we mark 50 years since April 30, 1975, we reaffirm a truth we’ve always known: our language matters, our refugee dignity must be respected, and our community will never be an afterthought.

We are releasing our public statement today because harm was done, and we believe in truth, not silence. In times like these, we don’t just reflect on history, we act to protect it.

To speak in our own language.
To honor our truths - not just in words, but in action.
To protect the road so that future generations can walk it with pride and clarity.

📣 Hôm nay, chúng ta lên tiếng - rõ ràng, kiên định, và cùng nhau.

50 năm ngày 30 Tháng 4, 1975, chúng ta nhắc lại một điều chưa bao giờ thay đổi: tiếng Việt của chúng ta quan trọng, nhân phẩm người tị nạn phải được tôn trọng, và cộng đồng của chúng ta sẽ không bao giờ bị xem nhẹ.

Chúng tôi công bố chính thức hôm nay vì một sự việc gây tổn thương đã xảy ra, và chúng tôi tin rằng phải nói ra sự thật, chứ không im lặng. Trong những thời điểm như thế này, chúng ta không chỉ tưởng niệm quá khứ, mà còn hành động để gìn giữ nó.

🖤 Flag Raising Ceremony 🖤

On the 50th Anniversary of Black April, we came together with our Vietnamese community at City Hall and Dorchester Memorial Park to mark 50 years since the Fall of Saigon.

This Black April flag raising is more than a ceremony; it's a moment of remembrance and reflection for collective memory, grief, and honor. As the flag rises, we reflect the Vietnamese diaspora’s journey of resilience, survival, and renewal—carried forward by those who endured it and by the generations who uphold their legacy.

Through ceremonies and moments like this, we continue to remember and honor the sacrifices, strength, and enduring spirit of the Vietnamese diasporic community.

📽Special Screening: On Healing Land, Birds Perch 🎞

We have an in-person program and there’s a limit of 500 seats!

Join the 1975: A Vietnamese Diaspora Commemoration Initiative and the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum for a special screening of "On Healing Land, Birds Perch".

This powerful new short documentary explores the enduring aftershocks of the Vietnam War, through the lens of one of the most iconic Pulitzer Prize winning photographs, which defined the Vietnam War called Saigon Ex*****on. The film searches out the children of those involved in the photo and through a Vietnamese and Vietnamese American perspective takes us on a journey where healing is possible. The content of this film explores sensitive subjects, such as the reality of war. Please remember to take care of yourself and others at this time, too 🖤

Following the screening, 1975's Linh-Phương Vũ will moderate a bilingual panel discussion on the trauma of war, featuring filmmaker Naja Pham Lockwood, faculty Vũ Diễm Hương, and community organizer Kevin Lam.

A free bus to and from the JFK Library will be available on a first come, first served basis for interested attendees. The first departure will leave from in front of the Vietnamese American Community of MA Office at 1386 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, MA 02122 at approximately 1:00 PM. Bus service continues approximately every 30 minutes until the final departure from the JFK Library at 5:00 PM.
