Lately, a lot of you are walking through my door with that deer-in-the-headlights look. I get it. The world’s a lot right now. And somehow, it’s June — and still cold.

I had taken the table warmer off for summer...
But I had to put it back on.

This weekend I did something that always helps me feel more grounded:

I deep-cleaned and reset the whole space. It feels clear and eucalyptus-y in here. I took off the curtains so I could see the trees. (We'll see how that goes when the sun comes blaring through again.)

And I de-cluttered.

In fact, it's so uncluttered that I’ve got a few empty spots on the walls! I’d love to fill them with something meaningful. Can you help?

Good morning!

This week, suddenly everything feels different. (Did you feel that new moon, too?) I'm thinking about this:

Over the years, I’ve changed a lot: my website, my offerings, the way I work. I’ve experimented, learned, and grown —

— and I've complicated and confused things, too! 😅

Some of you have been around awhile and I sincerely thank you for hanging in through all my shifts, indecisions, and digital experiments!

My practice in my very first Boston office, though, was very uncomplicated! All I offered were two massage sessions:

Office Assistant: 60 minutes focusing on head, neck, and shoulders, and
Painkiller: a 90 minute deeper dive for specific issues

Anyone remember? Down on Newbury Street with the mean chiropractor?

This new moon this week was super powerful for me. I feel buzzy with excitement, sudden clarity, and forward motion!

This spring marks 15 years of having my own office here in Boston. And I realized I’ve come full circle.

The timing is so good!

ditch the doom scrolling,
or take a binge-watching break,
or turn off all your devices after a certain hour,
or whatever is meaningful for you!

(If you want to challenge yourself to let go of some different unwanted habit, be my guest. I chose my phone and laptop, but you don't have to!)

Regardless of your personal challenge choice, there will be a few Contest Rules if you want to try for a prize. If you don't care about prizes, do whatever the heck you want :-)

IN THE MEANTIME, here's your assignment:

🌱Think about what a digital detox means to you. What part of your digital life is interrupting your real life? What do you want to change?

🌱You'll be given some suggestions for simple mindfulness activities to do for at least 30 minutes in place of distracting yourself electronically. But if you'd like to do something else, think of some ideas, e.g., Read a book? Crochet? Tend your aquarium - or just stare at the fish? Exercise? Make dinner every night?

🌱Make sure you have any supplies or information or notebooks or whatever you will need.

🌱Think about how prepared you are, mentally, for this challenge. Do you feel committed to it already, waiting enthusiastically? If not, but you want to give it a try, is there something that can get you in the right mind to make it happen?

Springtime Digital Detox: 21 Day Challenge

WHEN
On March 20th: Make sure you've reviewed the content and have a plan. We'll start counting the 21 days ON the 21st.


WHY
The dark outside and the social climate had spiraled me into a stupor of Youtube news and Netflix fluff. The stupor was getting addictive and my eyes were hurting. That's why I decided to offer this challenge! UPDATE: I'm feeling an upsurge of energy with the warmer weather and the challenge starting in just few days. I was dreading it but now I can't wait!


WHAT
I'm replacing mindless scrolling through bad news with some activities I hope to be a little more nourishing for the body mind and spirit. What will you get rid of? What will you do instead?

Here's the general outline:

🌿 What to Expect:
Your goal is to switch out part of your digital life and spend at least 30 minutes fully present, engaging in something meaningful in real life. Then, share your experience in the group to support others and maybe win a prize! 🎉

🌸 The Basic Daily Format:
Create a Transition Ritual – Light a candle, take a deep breath, stretch—anything to mark the shift from scrolling to presence.
Choose Your Activity – Each week, you’ll receive a flexible list of mindful, creative, and introspective options.
Reflect & Share – Document your experience in the group and connect with others.

🌱 A Real Challenge:
21 days feels long enough to really plant some seeds of a more peaceful, intentional way of being—hopefully one that will take hold and continue to grow after the challenge is over.

A longer challenge means you'll be likely to encounter resistance and need to choose to keep going when the going gets rough. Reaching your goal will be that much sweeter! And with any luck, more fully integrated into your daily routine.

We begin March 20, the first day of spring. On that day, you'll make sure you're familiar with the content and are ready with your plan. We'll start counting the 21 days ON the 21st.

Clients have been asking about the Inner Healing Circle membership's Wednesday Check In + Meditation. Here are the answers to some FAQ:

✿ You keep saying "Weekly Check In + Meditation" is on Wednesday, but what exactly am I supposed to check in about?

You could:
✨say a few words about your progress in healing;
✨respond to a topic I introduce;
✨give a quick wave and say hello;
✨show up in silence.
We are practicing holding space for each other's "journey."



✿ What healing journey do I need to be "progressing" on?

Any path to feeling well and happy. Here are some examples:
✨You might be learning reiki to feel more connected to your body.
✨You might be practicing meditation to become more aware of negative thoughts and mindset.
✨You might have physical pain and want to learn more about energy healing.
✨You might be in someone else's mindbody or mindfulness program - or you might be going it alone - but you want to be around others doing inner work
✨You might simply want a time in the week to sit in stillness and regroup.


✿ Is it like being in a therapy group?

No I'm not a therapist so I wouldn't know how, or be qualified to run a therapy group. We do the check in; I may offer some teaching; and we do some form of meditation.


✿ Can someone else join me?

Yes! Invite your family, your housemates, your partner, your visiting friends and relatives. The $8/month membership fee covers whoever fits behind your camera!


✿ Can I share the Zoom link to the events?

Please don't. If they try it out with you, and like it, have them join ok? I mean, it's only 8 bucks. (If you know someone who truly doesn't have $8, and wants to attend, contact me.)


✿ I feel weird because I've never done reiki, qi gong, and not that much meditation. Will I feel out of place?

I hope not! We're all learning! If you are at all interested, consider showing up. Just show up and see what happens! 🌟 If you attend once and don't like it, I would come back. Every time we meet it's a little different. It will take a few weeks for you to get the vibe of what we are doing. 🌟 Some weeks you'll feel it and some weeks you won't. The learning builds gradually over time.

Good morning, I want to try something in Wednesday's (March 5) meeting, so if you'll be joining us, here's what I'd like you to do. Of course it's not required, but if you want:
✿ Make sure you have a set of headphones.
✿ Consider joining from a place where you can be cozy.
✿ Maybe a blanket, meditation pillow, or even a place to lie down. ✿ Consider darkening your room.
✿ Consider lighting a candle and/or using an aromatherapy diffuser or incense.
Here's why:
Last week in the Dreamlife Visualization, I'm not sure everyone drifted as deeply as they could have. So let's make our environments super meditate-y. I always clear my space and try to dim my lights a bit before we start. I'm inviting you to do the same. Also, I'm going to be start by actively sharing reiki with the group. We won't do the same meditation, but I still want to explore more about where we are and where we're going.
This group and our membership website are called Traveling Light because we aim to lighten our energy so we can travel through life with peace and ease. We are learning to stay peaceful in the powerful now moment. But that doesn't mean our Now Moments don't lead us toward ever-increasing ease in our bodies and light in our hearts.
