Use your “Inner OT” to boost your New Year’s Resolutions
1. Building sustainable habits and routines
Develop realistic daily routines that support health (e.g., movement, sleep, self-care) and fit their real-life contexts.
2. Person-centered, meaningful goal setting
Lifestyle changes are tied to what matters most —values, roles, and priorities—making change more motivating and lasting.
3. Reducing barriers through adaptation
Address physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental barriers by modifying tasks, environments, and expectations to support success.
4. Promoting balance, participation, and well-being
Occupational balance across work, rest, leisure, and self-care, improving overall health and quality of life.

We’re so proud of our OT students! SOTA and PTE hosted a successful bake sale fundraiser on Wednesday in support of the AOTF St. Catherine’s Challenge, raising $439 to advance OT research and uplift the OT profession. Our amazing 2nd-year EL-OTD students - L→R: Anna Lee, Kelsey Keuning, Julia Kropiewnicki, Kyle Cioffi, Casey Jarrett, Bridie O’Sullivan, Emily Payne, and Savanna Pendergraft - made the event a success. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported the future of occupational therapy! If you want to contribute to this cause and donate, the link is in bio!!

Alum & Faculty publication alert! MGH IHP OT Assistant Professor Jessica Asiello, EL-OTD Class of ’22 alumna Hannah Levine, and Professor Emerita Susan Fasoli contributed to a new scoping review on applications of the Rehabilitation Treatment Specification System (RTSS). RTSS provides common language for specifying the “what,” “why,” and “how” of rehab interventions, to enhance clinical reasoning, communication, and knowledge translation in clinical practice, education, and research. Sharing some photos from the Salem Hospital Mental Health LIFW virtual groups this past summer! EL-OTD students are fortunate to have the opportunity to learn how to conduct virtual groups for adolescents in a mental health partial hospitalization program. They observe their peers lead a group, then lead the next group. In these sessions, the EL-OTD students practice the application of sensory processing concepts and strategies with the adolescents.
Featuring guidance from Dr. Mary Beth Kadlec, with Group Prep led by Ashley McIntire and Kaili Chval, and a thoughtful Debrief session with Ashley McIntire, Kaili Chval, Emily Zerofski, and Cait Rocco.
