Some days are hard to to get up and keep going

Some days we want to just break down and give up

Some days it’s hard to stand tall and lift your head high

Some days it’s hard to carry all the weight alone

Some days staying strong isn’t so easy

But..

Some days are filled with love laughter and joy

I went with Utthan Pristhasana or Lizard Pose 🦎

In Sanskrit…
🦎Utthan means to stretch out
🦎Pristha means the page of a 🦎Asana means pose.

Lizard pose is a hip opener. The pose stimulates and opens the second or sacral chakra, which is the emotional seat of interpersonal relationships and family identity.

Depending on how flexible you are, Lizard Pose can be intense for your hips.

Some other benefits of Utthan Pristhsana are…

🦎Opens the hips, hamstrings, groins and hip flexors.

🦎Strengthens the inner thigh muscles on the front leg.

🦎Opens and releases the chest, shoulders and neck.

🦎Prepares the body for deeper hip openers such as Pigeon Pose and Hanuman Pose.

Feeling the flow today 🙏

Some days you just appreciate the practice more. Either you needed it more than you thought in that moment or like me yoga is a place of peace, calm, mindfulness. Where in that moment nothing else matters. You are one with yourself, with your mind, body, and soul. Releasing all your stress, tension, fears, insecurities, and negative thoughts out with each exhale. Feeling the warmth strength love and weight lifted with each inhale.

Take 5 mins and give your self some love. Even when we don’t think we need it, we realize how much we do after the fact. 💜🧘‍♀️

I chose Virabhadrasana I or Warrior I

Virabhadrasna I or Warrior I stimulates the Root Chakra (Muladhara), Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana), and Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura).

It connects us to Earth and the physical body, while helping us harness inner warrior energy to feel safe, confident, empowered, and connected.

I’m grateful for these moments when my little man wants to share this precious time with me. Honored to watch him learn, grow and gain strength, peace and a strong confident focused mindset.

Yoga is so much for than “stretching” it’s a total mind body soul and heart transformation if you can let go and be in the moment.

So I went with the beautiful Mermaid Pose 🧜🏽‍♀️ aka Eka Pada Rajakapotasana

This lovely graceful pose lifts and opens the heart. It provides a deep stretch to the thighs, groins, shoulders, sides, and chest. It improves mobility in the spine and hips, strengthens the abdominal muscles, and stimulates the organs of the torso. Pretty impressive!
