Every time I walk into FRIENDS of Broomfield, I’m reminded why I’m so passionate about inclusive fitness and serving the I/DD community.

What makes FRIENDS so special isn’t just the programs they offer. It’s the culture they create. Every individual is treated with dignity, encouragement, patience, and genuine care. They don’t just provide services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities; they create opportunities for connection, growth, confidence, independence, and joy.

As someone who has dedicated a large part of their career to inclusive fitness, I can honestly say that FRIENDS sets the standard for what serving the I/DD population should look like everywhere. Their team leads with compassion, purpose, and an unwavering belief in the value and potential of every individual they serve.

I’m incredibly grateful to be part of their mission and to work alongside such amazing participants and staff members every week. The energy, positivity, and sense of community there is something truly special.

Organizations like FRIENDS don’t just change lives — they help create a more inclusive world for all of us. šŸ’™

One of the greatest gifts we can give our children is showing them that movement, health, and joy belong together.

Your kids don’t need a perfect parent.
They need a present one.
A parent willing to run, play, explore, laugh, and lead by example.

Healthy habits built through connection and shared experiences can become lessons that last a lifetime. ā¤ļø

Here's a quote from Chapter 4: Fitness Is a Family Affair:

ā€œThe most important thing is not perfection—it’s participation. Start small. Be consistent. And make it enjoyable. When your kids see that health is something to be shared and celebrated, they’ll be far more likely to carry those habits into adulthood."

Every step has a purpose.

Today’s training session took me to the stairs at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with my weighted vest on as I continue preparing for my upcoming 14er fundraising challenge. šŸ”ļøšŸ’Ŗ

The weight on my back is symbolic. It represents the challenges that so many individuals and families carry every day. I’m committed to pushing myself physically to support an organization that means so much to me: FRIENDS of Broomfield.

Soon, I’ll be hiking a Mt. Quandary with a group of amazing people in which we will all be carrying extra weight to help raise money that supports inclusive programs, opportunities, and experiences for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The training is tough. The stairs burn. But purpose makes hard things meaningful.

This challenge is about more than fitness. It’s about carrying the load for a cause bigger than myself and showing that when we come together as a community, we can help create a world where everyone feels included, valued, and empowered.

Every sunrise is a reminder that no matter how yesterday went, today is a fresh start.

The goals you set back in January? They’re still waiting for you. It doesn’t matter that it’s almost May. What matters is your willingness to rise up, reset your mindset, and take one step forward today.

Your health, your energy, your future—they’re all built in the small decisions you make each morning.

Let this sunrise be your turning point. šŸŒ…
Not a restart, but a continuation.

Today, I completed my good deed by trying out ā€œPloggingā€ for the first time. For those who may not know, it’s a blend of jogging and picking up litter. It’s rewarding to combine fitness with environmental sustainability.

There was so much litter than not a lot of jogging happened but at least we were able to successfully complete our mission by filling 4 large trash bags while covering over 2.5 miles of trail along the South Platte River here in Denver, CO!

Getting testimonials like this greatly helps me get through the tough times in life because it reminds of me of why I got into doing what I do in the first place. I was brought into this world to make a positive difference and to serve those who need it most.

Have a great Friday!

šŸŒŽ Earth Day

Health isn’t just personal—it’s environmental.

I’m just as passionate about taking care of the planet as I am about helping people of all abilities build stronger, healthier lives.

⚔ Driving a Ford F-150 Lightning
šŸš¶ā€ā™‚ļø Picking up litter every time I walk

It’s all connected.

Take care of your body. Take care of the Earth.

One of the most meaningful chapters of my life came from my time as a ā€œBig Brotherā€ with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado. I was paired with an incredible kid named Alex through their Sports Buddies program.

The challenge? Alex didn’t like sports at all… and he was pretty shy about participating in anything new. But instead of forcing it, I focused on building trust first.

We showed up consistently. We laughed a lot. We took small steps. Over time, something amazing happened:

Alex started actually participating! Then he began engaging in ways no one had seen before. By the end of our time together, his mom called me the ā€œChild Whisperer.ā€ The reality though is that I never had any special trick. I just showed him that I cared, I stayed patient with the process, and believed in him before he believed in himself.

That experience gave me so many joyful memories, but more importantly, it reinforced something I carry into my work every single day:

šŸ‘‰ Everyone is capable of more than they think when they receive the right support, environment, and belief system around them. It’s a big reason why I’m so passionate about what I do now. I love helping individuals of all abilities build confidence through movement and health and am so grateful for experiences like this that shape not just others’ lives, but my own as well.

The #1 reason busy professionals don't reach their fitness goals isn't lack of motivation.

It's lack of a plan.

I've worked with enough individuals to know the pattern: life gets full, workouts get inconsistent, and eventually the goal gets pushed to "someday."

That's why I created the Customized Weekly Written Workout program through Better Everyday LLC.

Here's how it works:

1ļøāƒ£ We start with a FREE consultation — I learn your goals, your schedule, and your current fitness level.

2ļøāƒ£ Every Sunday, you receive a brand-new personalized daily workout plan for the week ahead. Built for you. Ready to execute.

3ļøāƒ£ Monthly check-ins keep your program evolving as you do.

The investment? Starting at $50/month (a fraction of what most people spend on personal trainers).

If you're a professional who knows fitness matters but can't afford to spend mental energy figuring out the "what" every day, then this was built for you.

I'm currently accepting new clients. Message me to set up a free 20-minute phone consultation and let's map out a plan that fits your real life!
