Hot Seat Event for Abused Kids and the Kempe Foundation

Hot Seat Event for Abused Kids and the Kempe Foundation PLEASE read my "About" and long description of this page. I need your votes!! Thank you! April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month
Hello everybody!

PLEASE READ, I NEED YOUR VOTE ITS FOR ABUSED KIDS!! Some of you may not know that this last summer I did my own fundraiser for abused kids and the Kempe Foundation (kempe.org). I apologize that i am just following up with you now for I got very sick after the event, lost my dad, and some other things that added to the extended delay of getting this out. What I did was that I sat in approximately 25,000 seats at Folsom Field in Boulder (C.U.) to raise awareness of child abuse, while simultaneously raising funds for the Kempe Foundation and their advocacy programs. The thought I had in mind was that each seat I sat in would represent an abused child. With the exception of the intense temperatures during my event, I really enjoyed the challenge! It was over 100 degrees both days (inside the stadium) which really impeded my progress. In fact I got 2nd degree burns on both of my hands from repeated contact with the metal bench seats. Now the burns had gotten so bad so quickly that I ended up having to wear bandages and gloves over my hands for the rest of the event. I also had bruises, sore joints and muscles, and had a bout with heat exhaustion. I also had to spend money that was not in my budget for mandatory insurance and for a rental fee to use C.U.’s facilities – but it was worth it. The monetary strain to do this and then the physical punishment I endured during my event was nothing compared to what some of these children are going through. Now the only negative regarding my event was, besides the heat, was not getting enough press. By the time C.U. FINALLY approved my event and the only days that I was allowed to use the stadium was a minuscule of a window – only a couple of weeks when I needed a couple of months for a healthy promotion. Therefore I have did not have adequate time to get the coverage for Kempe and the abused kids that I would have liked. I did get a radio blurb, then a radio interview, tons of email blasts, a online article and 2 paper write ups including a recent Denver Post article (February 2014.) Please read the online article here: http://www.examiner.com/article/denver-massage-therapist-launcelot-hawk-took-the-hot-seat-to-help-abused-kids?CID=examiner_alerts_article
You may listen to my radio interview here: http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/audioPop.jsp?episodeId=763093&cmd=apop
I was surfacing the internet as I am still working on post event funds for the Kempe Foundation and I came across a couple of sites that may get my event and the Kempe Foundation much needed publicity: the Ellen DeGeneres and Queen Latifas site. (QL has a new talk show)
Each site has a page on their site that is dedicated to people who do good deeds and you can submit them and their story. So what I am asking is that if you liked what I did, you want to support abused kids, then PLEASE vote for me and pass it along! I thought if I get enough votes on these shows, it will possibly get the producers attention and perhaps be mentioned on the show. Links:
Ellens Act of Kindness, “Be part of the show” link: http://www.ellentv.com/be-on-the-show/682/

This page is very simple to fill out, and will only take you a minute or two. At the bottom of the page it says “Tell us your story” and asks for a picture. You may use the picture of me sitting in the seats (which you may retrieve from this page OR from here http://www.examiner.com/article/denver-massage-therapist-launcelot-hawk-took-the-hot-seat-to-help-abused-kids?CID=examiner_alerts_article and mention my story. You may also link THIS page to them as well She asks to tell you about someone who is struggling financially that has helped others. Feel free to mention that it was out of my budget to do this, I took time off work, severely burnt my hands (and I am a massage therapist!), dealt with record heat, etc., whatever you may feel like mentioning for this is the kind of information these shows are asking for. Queen Latifas “Unsung-Hero” page: http://queenlatifah.com/be-on-the-show/unsung-hero/
This page too is very simple and will only take you a couple of minutes, and once again please use your own words and a picture of me doing my event. If you can do both Ellens and Latifas pages, I would be most thankful! You can use the same picture if you want, and copy and paste your words from one site to another… very simple for they pretty much are asking the same thing with minor differences. Please also provide them my information in “Tell us your story” areas, along with the other information that they request. Linking this FB page to them, might be the easiest to do: https://www.facebook.com/launcelotabusedkidshotseatsevent

Those of you that know me know that I never ask for anything… this time I am. I really don’t want all the work that I did, in the short period that I had, to go to waste for myself and especially not for Kempe. I put in many hours of work, and my own money before the event to even make it happen…I’d hate to see it go to waste. National attention for Kempe would be more than I could ever hope for!!! Thank you so much!! Please email or Text me when you have completed this, I would love to hear from you. if you have any questions prior to it Text me at 303-521-7735
Thank you thank you thank you!!! Also thank you C.U. for letting me access Folsom Field for this event.

Merry Christmas and happy New Year to my fans! That's two of you, btw, and one is myself, and the other isn't human..... Got to start somewhere! :-) I took a break from my next event, but now I am back onto working on securing a venue for upcoming fun raiser (TBD 2020) that will be, BTW, a record breaker! Cant wait! Everyone I talk to LOVES the idea, but its getting to the decision maker, and getting them to share in my vision is the hardest part... IT WILL HAPPEN.

This link has been broken, however if you want to hear it pm me and I can send it to you. :-) http://www.talkshoe.com/t...

Some of you may not know that this last summer I did my own fundraiser for abused kids and the Kempe Foundation (kempe.org). This page is very simple to fill out, and will only take you a minute or two. At the top of the page in the boxes, please put in YOUR information. Then at the bottom of the page it says “Tell us your story” and asks for a picture (and that's where you can put my story and contact information). You may use the picture of me sitting in the seats which you may retrieve from this event page OR from the article at the bottom of this page. She then asks to tell you about someone who is struggling financially that has helped others.

Launcelot Hawk put himself in the hot seat to help stamp out child abuse. Literally.Last summer he made up his mind to sit in every one of the 50,000 seats at

A short demo video of what I did over 25,000 seats. No its not that exciting, and will never be selected for movie of the week. Maybe next time I will have the cameraman shoot flaming arrows at me and add some explosions :--) Sorry about the video being sideways… I tried several times to rotate it that didn’t work, except the option of turning my computer on its side…so not a techy guy. Any suggestions?

The Kempe logo (kempe.org) and a cookie fortune I received shortly after I decided to do the event that said, “Your ability to love will help a child in need.” The Universe showed me support via fortune cookie. Ill take it, and some Kung Pao Tofu to go!!
