A helpful tip for when you hurt your self, AKA: Acute injury
You use R I C E, not the food but the acronym.
R Rest the injury.
I Ice the injury once every hour for 20 minutes.
C Compress the injury by wrapping it with an ace bandage
or immobilize with a splint.
E Elevate the injury above the heart to decrease blood flow
and reduce swelling.
We hope you never have to use RICE but, if you do it will reduce the swelling in the injury. Dr. Mindy
