Spinal Cord Strong: Cameran's C6-C7 SCI Journey

We will be back around June for 4 weeks for Cameran to take behind the wheel and hopefully pass his test with DMV in order to get the restrictions needed, added to his license. This is the easy part.

The hardest part will be finding an affordable truck that is 7 years or newer, with 70,000 miles or less, for around a $40,000-$55,000 conversion system to be installed. That conversion system, does not include the price of the vehicle...

Also the 7 year, 70,000 miles is pushing the requirements to the complete max. For the needs of Cameran, the vehicle may need to be newer with less miles due to the amount of the conversation. Definitely want to make sure the conversation is exactly what he needs and the vehicle will last for years to come.

We are officially complete, in exception of a couple of things, and received our final OP this morning!

Between the kids being out of school, Christmas chaos, and Cameran not feeling well last week, there wasn't much going on.

We are now trying to get back in routine and Cameran has some exciting things coming next week!

One year ago today, while walking into church for Christmas Eve, I received a text message from someone I had never met. A person with a ginormous heart... Todd.

A year later, we are sitting in church for Christmas Eve, we have an OP, and Cameran is moving into his room!

We are incredibly thankful and truly blessed for the love, support, and care shown to our family by Olivia, Todd, and everyone else involved. Your kindness and understanding have meant more to us than words can express. Most of all, we are deeply grateful for the respect shown in supporting Camerwn and ensuring he has his own personal space, comfort, and dignity. Knowing that he is surrounded by people who genuinely care and advocate for his well-being brings our family great peace and reassurance. We are so appreciative of each of you and the role you each played in uplifting and supporting our family.

Merry Christmas everybody! 🎄

I am so excited to share this! 💚

VCU Occupational Therapy helped Cameran this past summer get back to being able to fish! They reached out to me a couple weeks ago, wanting to interview us and for Cameran's Story to be featured with VCU! We of course accepted!
