That fatigue you feel two days after a work-out?
It’s delayed onset muscle soreness. It happens after a hiatus from exercise (Winter part 3. South Dakota!?!?! What?!?!?!?), or when you’re ratcheting up your regimen.
A day or so after your work-out do you feel like this ⤵️:
💪 muscles that are tender to the touch
💪 reduced range of motion from pain and stiffness
💪 muscle swelling
💪 muscle fatigue
💪 short-term loss of muscle strength
Massage can help lessen the lingering effect and shorten your muscles recovery time. It doesn’t have to be a long massage, and it doesn’t have to be intense. Don’t compound the fatigue with pain.
Get a massage therapist who can target your fatigued muscles with post-workout massage.
Get a massage therapist who knows how to use their training to benefit you. 🙋‍♀️

🧠 Chronic Pain Isn’t Just About Tissue Damage
Pain isn’t always coming from a torn muscle or a pinched nerve.
Sometimes it’s coming from a nervous system stuck in alarm mode.

What’s really driving it?

Neuroinflammation (cytokines, CGRP, substance P…)

Central sensitization (the brain’s volume k**b for pain gets stuck on high)

Fear and guarding (hello, movement phobia)

Fascial glue and immune noise that no amount of stretching can unwind

And most techniques?
They don’t touch this part of the system.

💥 That’s Where RAPID Comes In
RAPID was built for this exact moment—the one where everything else has failed.

It’s not about stretching. Or rubbing. Or guessing.

It’s about working with the nervous system to actually change the pain story.

Here’s how...

✅ RAPID resets the pain loop – It quiets the chronic alarm bells firing in the nervous system.
✅ Talks to the nervous system – RAPID uses specific movement and input to reach the control center directly.
✅ Breaks the fear cycle – Clients feel safer in their bodies—often within minutes.
✅ Delivers trackable results – You see the change. They feel the change. It’s measurable.
✅ Gives you tools that work – No more dancing around chronic pain. You’ll know what to do and why it works.

🧠 8 Simple Ways Your Brain Helps You Heal
1. Move it or lose it
If you don’t use it, your brain forgets how. But even a little movement helps bring it back.

2. Practice makes you stronger
Doing something often helps your brain and body get better at it — even if it feels hard at first.

3. Do the right stuff
Your brain learns best when you practice specific movements — not just random ones.

4. Repeat, repeat, repeat!
The more you practice the right things, the more your brain learns and adapts.

5. It’s never too late
Your brain can change at any age — young or old!5. Take breaks
Your brain needs rest to grow and heal. It’s not about doing more — it’s about doing it well.

6. Take Breaks
Your brain needs rest to grow and heal. It’s not about doing more — it’s about doing it well.

7. Make it matter
Doing things you care about (like hobbies or playing with family) helps your brain learn faster.

8. Progress spreads
Getting better in one area (like balance or strength) can help in other parts of your life too.

Plantar Fasciitis: real or imagined?
It’s come to mean any and all foot pain🦶.
Your feet have endured years worth of overuse, and downright abuse
The burning, the pain, need to stretch them, or rub them, can be unbearable.

👉 Standing on hard surfaces for long periods
👉 Uncomfortable or unsupportive shoes (Did someone say: steel toed boots 🥾?)
👉 Sitting for long periods
👉 Running 🏃, dancing🕺, or similar activities
Plantar fasciitis is when the ligaments in the bottom of your foot, the ones that create the arch, are overstretched and overtaxed. It’s the result of your foot resisting gravity. Holding you up 🧍‍♀️ or pushing you off the ground 🏃.

What to do with a pain in the…foot?
You tried all these
Foam inserts 👎
Ice 🥶 & OTC pain relievers 👎
Orthopedic shoe 👟 lifts 👎
Take smaller steps 👎
Choose supportive shoes, don’t walk barefoot 🦶👎
Avoid jogging and other high impact activities 👎
Calf and foot stretches 👎

If your pain is persistent, your doctor may recommend the tried and true:
⚬ Ice 🧊 and pain relievers
⚬ Splints
⚬ Orthotic inserts 👣
⚬ Injections 💉 in the heel (YIKES!)

Massage 👍
Massage gets blood flowing, and relieves pain. Long, deep, massage over your feet and legs will release the tension, and eliminate that burning sensation in the soles.

As a military veteran, I have understanding of the pain you’re going through. And as a massage therapist, I have training to combat it. And we won’t even talk about the holes in the bottom of your socks 🧦. 😉

Whether it’s your calf muscles, or something else; tight muscles make performing harder. They make workouts harder. Remember the PT you were imagining on Monday?
Tight muscles make EVERYTHING harder.
Ditch the harder.
Work smarter, NOT harder.
Get muscles to relax, and move, so they can perform.
I have massage appointments available.

Does your massage therapist ask you questions during the massage?
I don’t mean questions about your plans after the massage.
Does your massage therapist ask you about the muscles they are feeling under their hands? When they feel something different; a muscle with tension, or a tissue that rolls when touched; do they ask you?
My training in anatomy began years before I attended massage therapy school. To me, it isn’t just muscle, bone, and skin. But I will be asking you about the muscle, bone, and skin. When my hands feel something in your calf muscle that doesn’t feel quite right, be prepared for me to ask.
Because it matters to me. It could be the difference between a muscle that needs massage, and a muscle that needs healing.

Just so you know…
As a massage therapist, if you suffered a muscle strain on Monday, today is NOT the day to massage it. Wait, what? Yes. The massage therapist said, today is not your day to massage that leg. Let your muscles heal, before the rigors of massage. Any massage therapist, who cares about your well-being, would say the same. We will massage that leg, when the muscles are healed.
In the meantime, try an upper back massage.

When to see a doctor…
If you were running yesterday, and felt a lightning bolt shoot through your leg; should you be scheduling an appointment with your doctor today?
Let’s find out:
When you were running, did your “cramped” muscle immediately feel weak?
Was it painful when you tried to stretch it out?
Did you need help getting to your truck afterward?
Does your calf muscle look like it has a new dent in it?
This morning, was the muscle in pain, swollen, or do you have intense pain when moving your calf?

If you answered ‘Yes’ do any of these questions, it’s time to see your doctor.
The more you use that injured leg without treatment, the more you risk further injury, and longer recovery time. That doesn't bode well for you, does it?
