I chose Nubians because of all the rich butterfat! My husband, Alvin, always wanted me to learn to make goat's milk soap. So...finally I did! I made my first batch of soap and we used it. Before the next batch was ready we ran out of soap. I just grabbed one of the commercial bars we used to use. I threw it out as soon as the batch was ready! I vowed never to run out of goats milk soap again! :)
I use only natural ingredients. No petroleum products or preservatives in my soap! I make it the old fashioned way! Yes...with lye. But...the lye is gone right after it makes the soap. That's called "saponification"! Saponification is the soap making process meaning "to convert a fat or oil into soap by the action of an alkali" The alkali is the lye. Once it is gone....you have soap! My soaps are made with coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter or cocoa butter, goats milk of course! If I've added a scent...it's essential oils only. My plan is to stay away from synthetic fragrances. My soap bars are at least 25% larger than a commercial bar. Hope you like it!!!!
