Prana building classes in unique spaces that are followed by networking. Prana comes from Hinduism and is the sanskrit word for the Universal life force. It is also called 'Chi' in Chinese medicine. If you are attending tomorrow’s fundraiser for Gaza…
We will gather in the grassy meadow of Lindley park.
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Yoga ,chai, and chats
10- noon.

This is a fundraiser
for the children of Gaza.

Yoga as a philosophy shows us that
The divinity of all kids and life is sacred.
Yoga teaches us that we all have eternal life and the same universal energy- ‘prana’.
Regardless of ethnicity, creed or color.
All lives must have dignity of life, food and freedom.
We will gather to grieve and honor the 380,000 infants under the age of 5 who were killed by Israel in Gaza.

We will do yoga and meditation to process and then have chai and snacks listening to music and poetry to come together as a peace loving community.

This Sunday, September 14th let’s gather as a community that cares about peace on our planet and equality and empathy for those suffering in Gaza. Because all children deserve a childhood full of love and free from violence.

Vandana will lead an inclusive and gentle yoga practice focused on compassion and ahimsa ‘non-violence’. Vandana has been teaching yoga since 2007 and is an Indian yogi whose practise is focused on mental health and spiritual empowerment, beyond physical poses and the commercialization of yoga.

Please join to meditate on our interconnectedness and pray for peace.
There will be chai (Indian tea which contains dairy) and sweet and spicy snacks.
The talented will play some melodies for everyone. Amaia is a local musician, educator, and organizer with the Bozeman chapter of Montanas for Palestine.
She will be playing instrumental guitar while we enjoy some poetry, chai, and chats in the park.

Yoga is a spiritual practice that reveals the truth that we are all one. The eternal soul we possess is universal. Once you witness it, your compassion has to extend to all human beings. Ahimsa or non violence is one of the yamas or ethical ways in which we must live. Yoga is clear about spiritual considerations and aligns with peace and non harm for all.
As a yogi and human being my heart is troubled by the war crimes and genocide in Palestine and I feel for the Palestinians who are currently suffering.
And I’m tired of feeling helpless.

Before it gets too cold in Bozeman I have decided to organize a yoga fundraiser to support Gaza. We will practice yoga, meditate, have chai and snacks and listen to music and poetry.

Everyone is welcome and invited. Please consider donating in case you cannot attend. Link to sign up and donate in my bio.
Thank you and Free Palestine!

Back to teaching yoga to the students at

Every semester I meet young adults who are traumatized, stressed, nervous and tired and it brings me much purpose and peace to teach them the wisdom and ways of yoga. To see them feel at ease and confident as 19 and 20 year olds.
🙏🏽
I might be twice their age but I never feel it because yoga teaches us that we are more than our emotions, our bodies and our mind.
🌞
It’s a lifelong practice and frankly I believe that I am constantly learning and growing as I teach. It makes me a better human being and teacher. Observing that we know we don’t know everything keeps us humble and yearning to continue on the spiritual path, if you know what I mean.

Take time to understand who you are.
Introspect on what drives you, what your values are.

Every morning start the day by looking inside your heart, quietening the mind and breathing into the center of your being.
Meditation is a tool like no other in having self awareness, living a life of directed purpose and controlling the mind. Just start somewhere😀

Why do you practice yoga?
This question can be linked to other questions.
What is your purpose on this planet and how do you view your life in relationship to others?

If you practice yoga for a yoga b***y or abs then that’s like eating ice cream for the cake cone.
Our bodies become strong and healthy thanks to yoga but the higher purpose of asana is to sit in ‘dhyana’ and meditation.

Do you like the overall look and vibe of yoga which lets you where Lululemon(a company that doesn’t care about real yoga and profits off of your faith), mala beads (that you never use for actual ‘japa’) or the superficial connect to an exotic culture so you can wear a bindi and sometimes throw in a few garbled Sanskrit words that makes you appear intellectual and cultured? But deep down you harbor racist thoughts about others and treat others with rudeness and hostility.
Again a very superficial way of living and understanding yoga.

When you practice yoga, live yoga, you connect to your own divine nature. It gives you greater self awareness and with that more self love. In connecting and knowing ourselves yoga shines a light on interconnectedness with all of humanity.

Do you practice yoga to enjoy the health and mental benefits for yourself, but disregard the well being of others? This again is not truly living a yogic life.
As we celebrated International day of yoga yesterday, I ask you to introspect on how you live your life, how you practice yoga.
As our world is thrown into chaos and perpetual turmoil with wars and genocide, please enquire if your yoga has given you greater compassion for those who are suffering, starving and alone.
If you are practicing real yoga, it will break your heart open with true kindness towards their lived experiences and not just your own.

So as someone who strives every day to learn from yoga, who teaches with a deep understanding of its roots and spirituality,
I wish and hope that yoga will create a consciousness which gives every practitioner the purity of heart and soul to treat our brothers and sisters around the globe with the same respect and kindness that we want for ourselves and our loved ones.

A Metta for a World on Fire

May all beings be safe—
even those who drop bombs,
even those who sign death warrants from polished desks.
May they awaken from delusion,
before the weight of their karma sinks them into the hells they are creating on Earth.

May the children of Gaza,
starving under siege,
buried under rubble,
or trembling in makeshift hospitals—
know that they are not forgotten.

May those who kill with drones and justify it with lawbooks
see clearly the karmic chains they forge—
for no doctrine, no border, no god
can cleanse the blood from hands that refuse to tremble.

May the architects of war,
the politicians who trade lives for votes,
the media that distort truth to protect the powerful—
be pierced by the unbearable truth
of the suffering they permit and profit from.

And still—
may they, too, know healing.
Because only through healing can they cease to harm.
May the seeds of compassion within even the cruelest hearts
crack open under the pressure of the world’s anguish.

May we, the witnesses,
not look away.
May we not be lulled by comfort or silenced by fear.
May we grieve fully, act bravely, and love defiantly.

For every being starving, displaced, imprisoned, or erased:
we send you our fierce compassion,
our solidarity,
our vow to remember you—
and to resist.

This Metta is not passive.
It is fire.
It is water.
It is the breath between sobs.
It is the weaponless sword of truth.

May all beings be free.
May all oppressors be unseated.
May all wounds be healed.
May all delusions be seen for what they are.
And may we never stop walking the path of courage, even with broken feet.
