I’m reaching out today to share the story of someone very dear to us—Christine Underwood. Christine has always been the kind of person who gives generously, loves deeply, and shows up for others without hesitation. Whether it was through her work, her friendships, or her commitment to her family, Christine has touched countless lives with her warmth, kindness, and strength.
Recently, Christine received news that none of us ever want to hear: she has been diagnosed with lung cancer. This diagnosis has come as a devastating shock—not just to Christine and her loved ones, but to the entire community who knows and cares for her.

Meet the owner of Sound Diagnostics! Chalah McPherson is the proud owner/operator of Sound Diagnostics in Bozeman, Montana. After working at hospitals in Missoula and Bozeman for more than ten years as an ARDMS registered ultrasound technician, Chalah saw an unmet need for expectant mothers in the Bozeman community. As Gallatin Valley’s first and only privately-owned outpatient ultrasound imaging center, Sound Diagnostics provides diagnostic ultrasounds for men and women, specializing in Ob/Gyn, abdomen/small parts and vascular exams.

Chalah holds a Bachelor’s degree from The Oregon Institute of Technology in Diagnostic Medical Sonography with a minor in Business. After graduation in 2009, Chalah moved to Missoula to pursue her professional career. She is registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Obstetrics/Gynecology, Abdomen/Small Parts, Breast, and Vascular.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition where a blood clot forms in a deep vein, typically in the legs. It can lead to serious complications if the clot dislodges and travels to the lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism. Ultrasound is commonly used to diagnose DVT. It is a non-invasive and highly effective imaging technique using sound waves. As the proud owner of Sound Diagnostics Ultrasound I would like to welcome you to Bozeman's first privately owned ultrasound imaging center. Having lived in Montana for the past 10 years, I am excited to finally provide an alternative ultrasound experience to our community. Offering the highest quality 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasound imaging allows us to provide the most personal and unique experience. Our goal at Sound Diagnostics Ultrasound is to provide the utmost quality and care to our patients. We not only want to meet your expectations, we want to exceed them! We are here to provide diagnostic and elective ultrasound to our community in a warm non-sterile environment. On average our medical ultrasounds are half the cost of other imaging facilities/hospitals in our area and we accept all major insurances as well as Medicaid and Medicare. Our elective ultrasounds are priced affordably for self pay individuals. In addition to offering full medical ultrasounds for men and women we also offer early 8 week DNA gender blood tests (99.6% accuracy), gender ultrasounds starting at 14 weeks, and of course our 3D/4D elective prenatal . We exclusively employ Sonographers registered with ARDMS to maintain a safe and high quality environment for our patients. Our board-certified, state licensed Radiologists interpret all of our general, small parts, and vascular medical ultrasounds. All medical obstetric ultrasounds are interpreted by our board-certified Perinatologist, Dr. Fausett. Dr. Fausett has served hundreds of families in western Montana over the years and has become a well known maternal fetal medicine provider in our area.
