Valentine’s Day isn’t just for chocolates and flowers; it’s a time to celebrate all the little ways we share love and kindness, and at Cox Branson, there’s plenty to go around!

Take a stroll through our hospital and clinics, and you’ll find hearts and love at every turn. In patient registration, our Words of Affirmation bulletin board is spreading positivity, filled with encouraging messages and uplifting quotes.

In Med100, you can’t miss decorations featuring fuzzy Highland cows, adorable, huggable, and sure to bring a grin to anyone’s face. And for a touch of whimsy, don’t forget the pharmacy duck strutting proudly in a handmade Valentine’s sweater.

Even the Cox Branson Cancer Center is joining the fun with a decorated Valentine’s sack competition, showing off the creativity and heart of our staff while bringing joy to our patients.

Is your heart now pounding with joy? If you need a cardiologist, we've got them, too! ❤️

Cheryl Gabriel, nurse manager at Cox Branson, teamed up with Cynthia Hodges, a second grade teacher with Branson Public Schools, to give students a behind-the-scenes look at the hospital and the many people who are here to help them.

Together, they brought the classic Flat Stanley project to life. Each student created their own Flat Stanley, and now these little travelers are touring the hospital, meeting our incredible teams, and learning about the wide variety of health care careers along the way.

Thank you to Cheryl and Cynthia for this creative, hands-on way to spark curiosity and introduce children to health care careers early, and to everyone across the hospital who is helping Flat Stanley explore.

We are enjoying this experience just as much as the students!

Trusted care matters when it comes to cancer prevention.

Our local surgical team at Cox Branson, Drs. Dustin Day, Mark Mason and Dirk McMurray, provides screening colonoscopies for our community. Early detection saves lives, and having this care close to home makes it easier to take that step.

As the season’s first winter storm approaches, teams at Cox Branson are already hard at work behind the scenes. From engineering hooking up snow plows and checking salt inventory to teams checking supplies and coordinating accommodations for staff, preparing for a significant winter event takes an entire team effort.

“When the snow starts falling, our first priority is keeping the ER accessible,” says Giancarlo Vigna, groundskeeper at Cox Medical Center Branson. “That’s where every minute matters, so we focus there first."

The work then quickly expands beyond the main campus.

“Once those critical areas are taken care of including urgent care, we shift our focus to the clinics across the region, from Kimberling City to Forsyth and all the clinics in between. Winter prep is really about making sure care stays within reach for everyone.”

No matter what the weather brings, our teams are ready to keep care moving for our community. ❄️ And if you must go outside, check the comments for winter safety tips and fall prevention guidance from our CoxHealth experts.

A system-wide collaboration was on display recently at Cox Branson as teams from across CoxHealth came together to deliver comprehensive heart and stroke education.

Trauma Services from Cox South worked alongside Branson’s Education, STEMI (heart), Stroke, and Emergency Department teams to deliver the program, with volunteers from both campuses supporting the effort.

Bringing together registered nurses from Springfield and Branson with EMS personnel, the training featured two real-world scenarios, Trauma with STEMI and Trauma with Stroke, designed to strengthen clinical decision-making and teamwork.

Hands-on learning was a key part of the day, with multiple skills stations available, including EKG lead placement, chest tube troubleshooting, and Stop the Bleed training.

By bringing teams together, this initiative improved clinical readiness, encouraged shared learning, and supported excellent patient care throughout the health system.

Most individuals prefer not to celebrate their birthday in a hospital, but for Andrew, a 41-year-old patient at Cox Medical Center Branson, his care team went the extra mile to make his day memorable.

After spending three days in the hospital, Andrew was pleasantly surprised with a touching celebration. The staff sang Happy Birthday, wrote a heartfelt card, and offered him a special treat.

“They didn’t have to do any of that,” Andrew remarked. “It meant a lot and made my day unforgettable.”

Andrew and his wife expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding care they received and the genuine Ozarks hospitality that made the hospital feel inviting and warm.

“They took the time to understand me as a person, not just as a patient,” he noted. “That personal connection made all the difference.”

When Andrew mentioned he was having difficulty sleeping, the team was attentive.

“They were very respectful and exceptionally quiet whenever they checked on me,” he shared. “I could sense that they truly cared about my well-being.”

Stories like his remind us of how personalized, compassionate care can enhance someone's life, which is a beautiful way to start the new year.
