From "Devotions from the beach"-- today's devotional talked about unique attributes and special gifts of seahorses.

Philippians 3:14
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

and the suggested prayer--

" God, point out the rare gifts You've placed in me and bring them to life as I move forward confidently with You."

Amen

Was feeling a little overwhelmed by things both in my control & out of my control this a.m.

Went to my devotional, and Holy Spirit reminded me of Matthew 19:26- with God, everything is possible.

Healing. Help. Recovery. Renewal. Guidance. Provision. Peace.

Everything.

And then for my meditation, I was reminded of this technique that helps bring scripture to life: changing the word emphasis.
(thank You, Holy Spirit for reminding me!)

WITH God, everything is possible.

With GOD, everything is possible.

With God, EVERYTHING is possible.

With God, everything IS possible.

With God, everything is POSSIBLE.

Amen.

Take hold of my words with all your heart. Proverbs 4:4

The prayer: Lord, thank You for being willing to enter even a heart as hard as mine, to dwell there and build.

I have had this devotional book for a little while and finally got to use it consistently in the last month or so... so many times the message has been timely. Probably all of the times, in reality.

This one touches me today. Even though I'm not feeling the hurt in this moment, I have had something that I have been healing from for a while, and anyone who's been hurt significantly by something knows that they do tend to protect their heart and themselves a little more fiercely afterwards.

And that's ok-- but it's best if we leave some room for God to work out the healing and to give us the wisdom for the next time, rather than just a locked door.

Today this verse also made me think about some of my loved ones who have locked doors. And I absolutely get it. (!)

But I also pray for their healing, and for their open ears to hear when Jesus knocks on the door with words of love & assurance.

The yoga of tears and release...

Today has been a day where I've accomplished some things that I'd hoped, and some other things have not gone as I'd hoped...

More than that, I've been feeling the pressure of some things that I am to accomplish... things that look impossible that I know God is equipping me to do.

Some things that I'm wondering whether or not they should remain on my plate.

Some of them are everyday mundane, things that are easy for others.

Some of them are big things that not everyone could do or is meant to do.

Today, I've been feeling the pressure of all of them. And the voice of the imposter, who says i'm an imposter.

Today I took myself outdoors knowing that sometimes I really need to get out...out of my head, out of my house.

It took at least three songs to get out of my head. I had to pray myself through and do a little bit of pacing while praying... then I had to continue praying and speaking truth over myself even as I started my physical asana practice.

But finally. Finally the tight coil started to release. Finally breathing deeply came more naturally. Finally I didn't feel so pushed.

And oh right- yes, there were tears. There was a moment on my mat when I was crying and I remembered that there have been multiple other times in which I came to my mat and the biggest thing that was "yoga" for me, were the tears and release. The bringing back into balance. If there's too much pressure at some point there has to be release.

So.

Sharing this reflection with you alongside one of my favorite meditation songs that helps me to get grounded...."when deep calls to deep...."

Matthew 6:34 "Future Tripping" is peering into the imagined future and anticipating an outcome.

The theme of this meditation from Matthew 6 is overcoming anxiety by learning to live in the present moment in the presence of a very present God.

What can you do to stay in the present moment with God?

Our Story--Mine and Yours

My Yoga Story

I couldn’t believe how much I loved yoga.

It came to me when I needed a less inflammatory way of staying fit—my career as a singer/dancer certainly wasn’t doing an old knee injury any favors (or the new injuries, for that matter). Traditional gym workouts just weren’t working for me.
