My little at her school spiral walk 🥰✨
Happy Kwanzaa it’s day three ❤️ 🖤💚
Call: Habari Gani ( In Swahili the means what’s new)
Response: Ujima (In Swahili this means collective work).
I’ve been without internet or service so it has made my participation in the campaign very difficult but I’m not giving up and neither should you 💪🏾😉.
Today is the third day of Kwanzaa and the principle “Ujima” mean collective work and responsibility. Building and maintaining community together —your brother’s or sister’s problem is your problem and it is our responsibility to solve our problems together.
Over the summer, I not only watched my school’s $35,000 campaign more than double itself, I watched other Black businesses and programs be embraced and supported. We were in the heat of the Black Lives Matter movement — the streets were on fire and emotions were high. It’s all been capped now — folks are back to work, but lots of programs like mine have closed. Had we not had such a successful run with our initial campaign, SWT would be closed, too. The pandemic required transitional structures I can not singularly fund.
This learning center is revolutionary. Yes — Black folks do nature. Yes — Black folks farm. And yes — Black educators deserve a safe space to explore and gain knowledge in the comfort of their own skin.
It’s never too late to be apart of this collective work.
Please donate to our growth as a community striving towards longevity in the fields of nature based alternative education.
