ICYMI APRIL was Autism Month.
It seems to have been widely overlooked this year. Autism prevalence is now 1 in 31 kids... and the inequities faced by the Autism & disabilities community include more than 2X the poverty & unemployment rates... and 9X the su***de rate. But you didn't hear about that from any local charities or politicians. Autism and its challenges didn't change... the national politics & local priorities did. Federal, state, and local politicians abandoned us.

The I in DEI is supposed to stand for INCLUSION. But, like SBA Certification... only veteran, women and able owned businesses are included. Meanwhile a majority of Americans with Disabilities are still excluded. That's not diversity that's discrimination. 😢

DYK passed bi-partisan HB 14-1051 promising to end the IDD / Medicaid waitlist by 2020, but as of MARCH 2026 one party rule has still FAILED to fund that promise. Today, thousands of Colorado’s most vulnerable citizens are still languishing on waitlists for years while politicians prioritize undocumented recipients and ineligible providers... instead of the people these programs were created and intended to help.

Bi-partisan HB 14-1051 passed a republican state senate and democrat state house in Colorado. It was signed by then Governor John Hickenlooper. It's 2026 and thousands of American citizens with disabilities in Colorado remain unfunded and on waitlists while ineligible recipients are prioritized over the most vulnerable.

Did you know 49.5% of all jobs are self-employed small business models? Maybe the reason why Americans with Disabilities have 2X the poverty and unemployment rate is because they lack to half of all jobs?

FACT: Unlawful state and local DEI policies are used to bypass the supremacy clause of existing laws to intentionally prioritize groups or individuals with no standing or supporting legislation based instead on local politics, opinions and emotions... not existing federal law or established mandates.
