Thank you to my colleagues in Europe for a warm welcome at AECOS Europe in Prague. I was even included in the young ophthalmologist session. Not sure how that happened! As my term as president for the Americas is coming to an end, I just wanted to say how grateful I am to this organization and how great it has been to see it continue to grow. Looking forward to seeing many of my friends at Deer Valley next month.

This laser is located at the Cleveland Eye Clinic's LASIK surgery center, Clear Choice Custom LASIK Center. The ZEISS VISUMAX 800 offers patients an even better refractive surgery experience because it is faster than it's predecessors. The ZEISS VISUMAX 800 creates a lenticule in under 10 seconds when used for the ZEISS SMILE procedure, and a flap incision in around 5 seconds when used for LASIK.

I often get asked by patients, family, and friends if LASIK is safe. Before any procedure, you need to understand safety and efficacy. With anything, there are risks however the FDA has proven time and time again that LASIK is safe and is one of the most studied elective surgical procedures available today. The most important thing is to make sure you see a qualified eye doctor to ensure you are a good candidate and your eyes are healthy. There are other refractive surgery options available so it is important to discuss with your doctor what the best option is for you.

April 8, 2024 is a big day for . We will be experiencing a total solar eclipse! Total eclipses occur during the lunar phase called new Moon 🌑 . The Moon touches the Sun, a time called first contact. Then the Moon moves across the Sun, gradually hiding it from view.

At this point the ☀️ is way too bright to look at and you will need proper solar eclipse glasses! If you do not have proper eyeglasses, it can cause serious 👀eye damage even blindness. So if you are in Cleveland that day, come give us a visit! We’ll have sunglasses available to make sure your eyes are protected during this once in a lifetime event!
