Fertility care has always been a passion for me, and then it became a deeply personal mission.

I support couples through fertility care not only as a clinician, but as someone who has navigated infertility and fertility treatments myself. I understand the excitement and possibility that come with thinking about trying, the confusion and disappointment when things don’t unfold on your timeline, and the overwhelm that can arise when fertility treatments enter the picture.

My heart is broken with all that is happening to SNAP. Between that and the fact that everyone's grocery bills continue to steadily rise, we need real, doable ways to stretch our grocery budgets. One way I have been doing that is with my $5 flea market find: the bread machine. Hoping this helps someone in someway.

First Bangor area summer, first local blueberry haul 🫐

Berry picking is my favorite summer pastime, but discovering new orchards and farms here makes it even sweeter. Jam is on the to-do list, plus a simple childhood snack of good berries and milk and a crisp of course. Today we visited North Branch Farm in Monroe!

🍑 Ps if anyone knows where I can pick or find local peaches in the Bangor/Ellsworth/Belfast area let me know! We used to love getting them in Acton at Kelly Orchards!

At the end of day, infertility changes you. It strips away illusions and forces you to face parts of yourself you did not know existed. It teaches you about patience, resilience, and grief. It shows you the quiet ways love can persist through hardship. And while I would never have chosen this path, I hope that in sharing my story, I can make someone else feel less alone.

If you are in this process yourself, I see you. If you have been through it, you know this kind of waiting. And if you have not, but you are walking alongside someone who has, know that your patience, compassion, and willingness to sit in the unknown with them matters more than you think.

Happy Thursday! A few new things to share today.

First, if you had trouble accessing the website earlier, it seems to be back up and running. Squarespace had an outage around noon.

Second, it has been years since I sent out my last newsletter. I had reached my patience with the Mailchimp platform! But, now I am playing around with Substack as a way to share both short form and long form content straight to your inbox. Here I will share my long form articles, which you know I love writing! I will also share more short form content like recipes, resources, and reflections. For example, the latest are two zucchini recipes that I have been loving lately.

There are so many phases to the fertility journey. From just starting to ask questions, to navigating months of trying, to the full overwhelm of IUIs, IVF, and everything in between.

Trying to conceive can feel like information overload. And once you’re in a fertility clinic, the anxiety, decisions, and pressure multiply.

Fertility has been my interest for years, but it became deeply personal when I received my own infertility diagnosis and began the IUI and IVF process. I know what it’s like to be on both sides of the table.
