What makes this program so special is that it’s not just about scheduled activities or the role of the activity aides—it’s about everyone coming together as one family. Our CNAs, nurses, and staff join residents in activities, whether it’s working on a puzzle, giving a manicure, sharing a laugh, or simply holding a hand.

These moments remind us that care is not just clinical—it’s personal. It’s about engaging hearts and minds, and building a community where residents feel supported, valued, and truly at home. 💜

We were honored to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Dr. Sumy Chang, MD, FACS from Community Medical Center, Christina Petrauksa APN, their team, the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Ennoble Care with a lunch and learn to spread awareness to the Toms River Senior Center.

💭 While October shines a spotlight on early detection and treatment, it’s also important to recognize another side of the story: the heart. 💕

Many breast cancer therapies—such as certain chemotherapies, radiation, and targeted treatments—can have lasting effects on cardiac health. This makes collaboration between oncologists and cardiologists essential to long-term survivorship care 💓

🎀Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide and can also affect men.
🎀Advances in treatment have led to higher survival rates—but also new challenges, including cardiotoxicity.
🎀Cardio-oncology is an emerging field focused on protecting heart health during and after cancer treatment.
🎀A holistic approach ensures patients not only survive cancer but also thrive with strong, healthy hearts.

This month, as we raise awareness for breast cancer, let’s also remember the importance of comprehensive care that brings oncology and cardiology together.

This , we're introducing Mae!

Mae is in her 90s and calls Willow Springs Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center her home as she resides in our community, Journeys. She is an absolute joy to our community—every morning she is one of the first residents up, ready, and waiting to join activities. Her enthusiasm sets the tone for the day.

One of Mae’s favorite activities is playing virtual bowling on Restore. Don’t let her gentle smile fool you—she often beats everyone with her high scores! Her competitive spirit, paired with her love of fun, inspires both residents and staff.

Mae participates through our Journeys Program, which is designed to meet residents where they are, celebrating their individuality and creating meaningful daily experiences. For Mae, it means channeling her energy and joy into activities that keep her engaged, active, and connected.

Stories like Mae’s remind us why we do what we do—because every person, at every stage of life, deserves opportunities for joy, purpose, and connection.
