Come join the Mayor's Initiative for Reentry Affairs (MIRA) on July 24, for an engaging afternoon where formerly incarcerated men will share their stories of healing through helping others. We are at Make the Road CT today with many of our HIA partners for the 3rd Annual Health Fair.

Nursing students from Fairfield University have joined us to help provide a free health screening as part of the event. There are also many informational tables with lots of local resources

We are here until 4 pm! Spread the word. Free for all!

Fairfield Health Department is offering two FREE ECG screening events this week for children and young adults ages 8-25, in partnership with In A Heartbeat. These screenings can help detect certain heart conditions that may lead to sudden cardiac arrest.

We are in the midst of exciting times for HIA! Yesterday, about 45 partners gathered at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport CT, to begin the planning and development of our regional 2025-2028 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) in response to needs identified through the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) process. It was an eventful afternoon spent in valuable conversation as we shared common goals, hopes, and aspirations for Greater Bridgeport. We look forward to continuing the work of refining this plan in the coming days and sharing all about it soon.

We are so proud of the HIA Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) team and their efforts to bring Mental Health First Aid training to the Bridgeport Community! Together, we trained 155 participants across the city in MHFA, Spanish MHFA and Youth MHFA!
