Brigham City Women in Business is here to support local business women and give them the opportunity to network with others in the community.

We meet at a monthly luncheon and hear from various keynote speakers.

Our next meeting is on Friday, December 6th at noon. We will have a special holiday lunch and treats with a fun meeting planned.

This will be our last meeting of the year. Come enjoy good food and friends for our special holiday get together.

#2 - Come with ideas about who is willing to serve we have a few positions open: Chair-Elect, Scholarships Chair, and Service Project Chair.
#3 - Please bring a guest that might be interested in joining the group. The more women involved not only benefits each of us in networking and growing our businesses, but also allows our committee to give more in scholarships.
#4 - Monica will send out invoices for membership and lunches after our 24th meeting.

Next Meeting is Thursday October 25th. Our speaker will be Jason Williams who is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) here in Brigham City. He currently works with Associated Psychotherapists and has over ten years of clinical experience. Jason is going to be speaking to us about stress, how stress affects us, and how we can learn to manage stress in a healthy way.

Speaker will be Detective Smalls from the Brigham City Police Department will be coming to speak to us Thursday about fraud, ID theft and scams that are common on the area. He will talk to us about keeping our businesses and ourselves safe.

The guest speaker will be Michael Stever who works for the State of Utah in disaster relief and worked in Puerto Rico, and others including Katrina. He has some amazing stories of resiliency of people, emergency preparedness and community efforts. He travels the world to train on preparedness and response and mobilizing communities.

The Brigham City Women in Business is going to change their meeting for April to support the Business Educational Event being offered on the same day in the morning. So our meeting will be on Thursday April 26th from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. at Bridgerland Technical College (325 West 1100 South). The cost will only be $5 for breakfast that day. After we discuss some business items, we are going to talk GOAL setting in your business and how to work through the year to attain them. Come with some goals you have in your business/work place!

I have an idea for our fundraiser. Every year there is a national "Help Portrait" on December 5th. Each local area is responsible for organizing their own free portrait session for those in need. I thought it might be neat to do a quick family portrait for the families in the New Hope Crisis Center. The help I could use if you all like the idea is a donation to give each of these families a free 8x10 print of their family photo. I could also use time and organization skills. We'll need to set up a system for multiple photographers to schedule the families in need that day. I've shown this link to Penny at New Hope and want to show it to you all as well!

We could include other groups of people. Some areas do free business headshots for the unemployed or college kids about to graduate.

Thoughts and ideas are welcome!
