My Story

“Awakened Soul is a space where you can come as you are. You can be any type of Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Wicca, Atheist, Agnostic, etc. You are seen, heard and loved where you are, as you are.”

Let’s flash back for a minute. I grew up in a Non-denominational Christian family and learned about God, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus and all the amazing healings in the bible. I accepted Jesus into my life when I was very young. Jesus has been a huge source of inspiration for me and to this day is part of my daily life. I’ve seen many miracles and lives changed through the healing power of Jesus. In my 30’s, I was drawn to more thoroughly learn about healing, spiritual gifts and how it all worked. I then found out about Reiki and Energy Work. I also expanded my spiritual gifts (intuitive psychic abilities) greatly via different mentors.

I have my Bachelor’s degree of Science from the University of Michigan in Dental Hygiene and have practiced in the amazing world of dentistry since 2001. I also owned a family photography business for a decade along side of that. I love working with people, bringing awareness to them and helping them find their answers. You’ll see my travel photography here and there and in my office. I became a Master Reiki Therapist in 2017! I’m thrilled to be incorporating Reiki into hands on healing. I’m a mom of two awesome young people, a wife and a dog owner to little Lola. So that’s a little bit about me!

About An Awakened Soul. I created a healing space that I always longed for. Growing up in the church, leaving it at 19, and then coming back to it in my mid 20’s I found it lacking. I had these deep emotional pains and yes I went to counseling, but I never quite got spiritually what I needed. I would leave logically feeling better and inspired with great practical tools, but still felt like something intangible was missing. In church, my healing fell short too, I would weekly wait in line for prayer, quickly tell a different stranger my problems, hoping they were spiritually connected enough to give me some good insight (in a few minutes with people lined up behind me) and sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. Along with that I had to agree with the church dogma and take part in that community. I was fine with the church I was attending, but when they split, suddenly I was in a quandary. What do I do now? I realized many others were in my position. They wanted healing without the dogma, without all the extra strings, in a space where they could privately be open, and have the time they needed to really connect to the Holy Spirit. So, I let go. I didn’t find my complete healing for several years. That’s when I was introduced to Energy Work and Reiki from two local lovely therapists. I was then totally healed. I wasn’t in a church, yet I was connecting to God and letting go of my wounds. Reiki and Energy Work are both not religious, not spiritual but for me they were. It allowed me to get what I needed. I used the time to connect to the God I grew up with and I knew. Reiki is neutral and the recipient can utilize it how they need to/want to. So combining all of that, I created a neutral healing space. I created “An Awakened Soul.”
