6 Things Men Forget About the Mother of Their Children Once They Leave Them for Someone Else:

1. She once carried their entire world inside her.
The woman they walked away from literally risked her life to bring their children into the world — something many men forget once they move on.

2. She was their teammate in the hardest years.
Sleepless nights, shared bills, small beginnings — she stood beside them when life wasn’t glamorous, even if no one remembers that part.

3. She sacrificed pieces of herself they never noticed.
Dreams delayed, career paused, social life rearranged — she bent her entire life around the family they built together.

4. She knows their children in ways no one else ever will.
Every cry, every fear, every milestone — her bond with the kids is rooted in years of emotional labor men often overlook when attention shifts elsewhere.

5. She remains the constant anchor in her children’s lives.
While he moves into a new relationship, new home, or new chapter, she stays — showing up daily, carrying responsibilities he no longer sees.

“babies raising babies.”
“one thing i won’t be is 40 and dropping my kid off at kindergarten.”

i hear things like this and it makes my stomach turn.
i can’t stand when i see people judge moms for when they had kids, whether it’s 18 or 35.

when people have babies young, they need more support than ever. not shame, not side eyes, not assumptions.
when people have kids later, you never know why they waited. maybe they chose to, maybe they didn’t. maybe it was heartbreak, healing, infertility, or life not going as planned.

every journey is different and none of them are easy.
we don’t need opinions. we need support, grace, and room to grow.

motherhood isn’t about when you start, it’s about how deeply you love through it all.

I was a “baby raising a baby” and she turned out amazing, successful and kind 11 years later 💖

📍Taking turns helping with baby at night even when they return to work

📍Words of encouragement & appreciation

📍Giving mom time to take uninterrupted shower (without baby)

📍Open to requesting more time with postpartum doula so that mom has the additional support she needs

📍Prioritizing moms mental health

📍Cleaning & Cooking

📍Taking care of older siblings

people call it “mom brain” like it’s some kind of flaw
like we’re scattered, unfocused, slipping

but they don’t see all the tabs we keep open

i knew the pediatrician appointment was next week and that the allergy meds were running low

i knew we were out of their favorite snack and that they’d only drink from the blue cup today

i knew which blanket they’d ask for at bedtime which song calms them which stuffie has to be tucked under their arm

i knew what to say when the emotions got big and the words got lost

i meal prepped during nap time restocked the diapers in the next size up

i kept track of every birthday invite grocery need doctor call and meltdown trigger

this isn’t forgetfulness
this is full capacity

call it “mom brain” if you want
but just know it’s running the whole show
