Our Youth Health Advisory Council had the privilege of welcoming Dalwin and Tina Marie from the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers to speak with our youth about the importance of public health and the powerful history behind community health centers.

They shared how community health centers were created to ensure that everyone—regardless of income, background, or insurance status—has access to quality healthcare. Our youth also learned how these centers have played a vital role in addressing health disparities and supporting communities across Massachusetts.

It was an inspiring and educational conversation that helped our youth better understand the impact of public health and the role they can play as future advocates for healthier communities.

Thank you, Dalwin and Tina Marie, for taking the time to share your knowledge and for inspiring the next generation of public health leaders!

On 03/06/26 HHA’s youth participated in a General Health Education Session on Cardiovascular Health led by Felicia Santos, RN, Nurse Educator. ❤️

During the session, Felicia taught students about the heart and its structure, helping them understand how this powerful organ works to pump blood throughout the body. Youth learned about the different parts of the heart and how each part plays an important role in keeping the body functioning properly.

Through this session, students also discussed the importance of taking care of their hearts through healthy habits like staying active, eating nutritious foods, and understanding how lifestyle choices can impact cardiovascular health.

We are grateful to Felicia for sharing her knowledge and inspiring our youth to learn more about healthcare and the human body.
