Worldwide, it is estimated that, it is estimated that 18 million people live with the condition, with about 500,000 children and adults in the United States having one or more symptoms.

October 19th to October 25th is Invisible Disabilities Week. This week is dedicated to spreading awareness about all forms of invisible disabilities and eliminating the stigma that goes along with them. I have epilepsy which is an invisible disability due to the fact that you cannot see the electrical discharges happening inside the brain. You only see the outward effects of what is happening inside the brain. 🧠

By sharing my journey with temporal lobe epilepsy with complex partial seizures, I hope to convey that there is hope even when you do not feel like it is. Follow your dreams despite your limitations. 💜✨💪🏽👑 I’m here to INSPIRE to EMPOWER!!!! Love the skin you are in. 😘

Happy Belated National Daughter Day to this little princess. I love me some you Crystiana. She reminds me so much of myself at eight years old…quiet, shy, reserved, misunderstood, and has a little bit of sassiness inside of her. She got it from her mom all too well. I do everything in my power to build her up and mold her into a strong woman like her mommy. I teach her to be proud of who you are and gain your voice. Be a leader and let others follow. What you think about yourself matters more than what others think about you. Know your worth and don’t allow no one to dim your light. You are your nickname a STAR. ✨ I love you mami. 😘💖✨👑

As a disability advocate, writer, blogger, YouTuber, and podcaster, I am thankful to have had the opportunity to talk to and network with the LEAP Organization and the Board of Developmental Disabilities. I also loved the fact that my daughter was with me to see how dedicated I am to spreading awareness and eliminating the stigma that comes along with others living with disabilities whether they are visible and/or invisible. 💚💜✨💪🏽👑

Today my sister Danielle’s new business was hosting an event for the LEAP Organization which stands for Linking Employmenht, Abilities, and Potentialvfor those that have been diagnosed with a developmental disability. This event was in association with the Departmemt of Developmental Disabilities in our county at Smith Road in Cleveland. 💚💜✨👑
