Yes, Perinatal OCD is very real.

💙 New Year, New Awareness 💙

As we step into January, it’s a powerful time to check in on how you’re really feeling during pregnancy and after birth.
Not every postpartum mood change is the same, and knowing the difference can help you get the right support:

🔹 Perinatal Depression (PPD): Persistent sadness, low energy, hopelessness, loss of interest; may last months without treatment
🔹 Perinatal Anxiety (PPA): Excessive worry, racing thoughts, panic; can interfere with daily life
🔹 Perinatal OCD (POCD): Symptoms include obsessions, compulsions, horror about obsessions, fear of being alone with baby, and hypervigilance

✨ Early recognition leads to earlier support and recovery.

And remember, perinatal mental health conditions can also include Bipolar Mood Disorders, PTSD, and Psychosis.

💙 You are not alone, and help is available.

If you need support now:
🔷 Call or text the Postpartum Support International HelpLine at 800-944-4773 (no diagnosis needed)
🔷 Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-852-6262
🔷 In a crisis, call or text 988
🔷 Download the Connect by PSI app
🔷 Visit Postpartum.net for programs and resources

To every parent, birthing person, and family who trusted me during pregnancy, postpartum, loss, or the many transitions of parenthood—thank you for allowing me to walk alongside you. Your courage, vulnerability, and commitment to your mental health do not go unnoticed.

To those who referred, shared resources, attended groups, or quietly supported this work from afar—your support helps make compassionate perinatal mental health care more accessible, and I’m deeply grateful.

This year held space for healing, grief, growth, and hope. I look forward to continuing to support you and this community in 2026.

Wishing you gentleness, rest, and support as you move into the new year. ✨

This season, give yourself permission to rest.
To step back.
To say no.
To choose what supports your peace.

As a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist, I see you.
Living through the holidays with a newborn, a bump, or a tender heart is hard—and it’s okay to ask for help.
You deserve a holiday that feels nurturing, not draining. 💛

So very grateful I can continue to support postpartum moms in their journey of motherhood! This impact award will help fund the postpartum wellness group I facilitate at Brookings Health System! We will be able to continue to bring in all different types of new parent resources supporting the Brookings and surrounding area communities. No parent should do parenthood alone. Thank you again, Women Without Limits Brookings for this opportunity!
