Dr. Irina Gorelik

Dr. Irina Gorelik Hi! Welcome and thank you for considering my services to support yours, your family's, or your organization's mental health needs!

-For new or prospective clients, please click the "Contact Us" button to schedule a free 10 minute consult call! I am a licensed psychologist (fluent in English & Russian) who has experience providing psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults (addressing anxiety, mood issues, depression, OCD, adjustments/life changes, trauma, interpersonal relationships & more). I also provide parent coaching and consultations & parenting workshops in schools, child care centers, and other organizations! Being a kid or a teenager in the modern day and age is not always easy. In my work with this population, I am passionate about helping kids/teens learn ways to cope with their emotions and stressors, and help them learn to accept themselves and build self worth. I am also a big proponent of empowering parents, as children thrive in homes where parents are able to feel supported. If you are looking for parent coaching and consultations, we will create individualized plans to meet you where you are at in your parenting journey. We will explore what feels the most challenging and collaboratively come up with tools and strategies to help you feel more confident, as well as try to determine road blocks that may come up. With my background in school psychology and the the NYS Dept of Education, I can also support you in advocating for your child's needs across other settings. Feel free to shoot me a message or an email and we will determine if I can be a good fit for what you are looking for! If it turns out that I am not able to provide what you are looking for, I will do my best to connect you to resources/services that best meet your needs! I have in person and virtual availability and am currently based in South Brooklyn, NY. My licensure allows me to see clients in NYS as well as in Florida (remotely).

Still feeling so much gratitude and warmth after hosting a welcome brunch for South Brooklyn clinicians at my new space, Olive Branch Collective.

Although I am a solo practitioner at this moment, I chose the word “Collective” intentionally. Supporting children and families is inherently collaborative, and this event reflected exactly that. I was joined by group practice owners, psychotherapists, neuropsychologists, pediatric providers (including PT and speech/feeding), childhood yoga and art instructors, and Montessori/Early Childhood specialists.

I was also honored to have the CEO/President of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, join us. I truly appreciate him taking the time to attend, offer support, and share insights and resources about ways his organization supports small businesses.

Olive Branch Collective is nestled in a diverse and vibrant community, and my hope is to create a space where professionals and families come together, connect, and feel supported.

Looking forward to the collaboration and community that’s already beginning to take root 🙏🏼🌱

Was happy to collaborate with New York Family about choosing extracurriculars based on a child’s personality. A seemingly relevant topic to start off the school year! Hope everyone has a good first week of school!

Veteran parents know that the back-to-school hustle isn’t solely about academics. After-school programs can be just as stressful to navigate. Sports, dance, art, STEM clubs…the options are endless, and figuring out which ones will truly suit your child can feel overwhelming.

I recently had the privilege to share some thoughts for this article in New York Family about how families can help kids navigate current events.
Grateful to be included in such an important conversation.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to wish everyone a happy New Year!

I also wanted to take the time to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone on here who takes the time to tag me, refer prospective clients, or write a review. It really makes a huge difference!

This year, I’ve been lucky to expand my practice and have the opportunity to see clients in person! I’ve also been able to collaborate with many meaningful organizations and companies to lead workshops on topics about parenting, child/adolescent mental health, and other relevant topics that I feel passionate about. I’m so thankful for each collaboration opportunity and look forward to continuing community involvement in 2025!

Honest google reviews also help those who are looking for services make a decision that they feel good about!

Looking forward to collaborating with PlayWell Brooklyn to lead a workshop titled: Parent Advocacy: Navigating Evaluations and Services in NYS

I often find that many parents are unfamiliar with their rights to access services that their children may be qualified for -- services that can be vital in helping them succeed psychologically and academically in the education system.

The goal of this workshop is to demystify these systems, and review available services in NYS from Early Intervention (0-3) through Special Education (3-21). This includes evaluation processes, obtaining and maintaining the services that best fit your child’s needs, parents’ rights, differences between types of plans and more.

The workshop will also cover different types of evaluations (psycho- educational vs neuropsych) and some of the pros and cons of each.

When: 11/13/24
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: virtual (link provided after registration)

Please register below or feel free to share with those who may find the info relevant!
